What even counts as a longer comment? Does it need to have substance in it or just be a lot of random gibberish?
The script you see just counts the number of characters in the comments.
Our curation team manually checks the comments to see if they are not gibberish, AI, offensive or for another reason don't deserve a Topcomment upvote.

Nope. We want to encourage people to write engaging comments. Not to focus on making them just long enough 😉

Using a programming language called javascript and a lot of chatgpt haha, in the end it was very simple, 1 file practically for each action. Then I installed it on windows and set up a task schedule, which runs every X time and thus automates it.
If you want, I'll give you the links to the github, you can take a look or if you want to download their installer and I'll help you set it up, it's super simple.

These are the links, when the page opens, go there on the right where it says release, then you download the installer, for now I've only tested it on windows x64. After installing everything, go to the program folder and configure the ".env" file.

I made 2 "little programs" in javascript, i created an installer for each one where it copies the files to the program file and thus already creates the scheduled tasks that also trigger when you log on and every 2 hours if you have done a powerup or put in savings.
yes, I've been working as a programmer in vb6 and C# (c-sharp) for 13 years and now with hive I'm trying to learn more about python and javascript.
haha not really, it's been working well for me, now I'm fine with the daily power up and saving a bit of hbd that comes from each post.

haha I'm a bit reluctant to use chatgpt, I've always been an advocate of learning and practicing everything, but there's no denying it, without chat I wouldn't have done these projects in practically a day each. Not to mention that it has sensational precision with the code.
It does make our jobs easier, but of course, we shouldn't be too dependent. :)
I use it to create materials for my classes sometimes. It's a great tool to save time, but I still have to edit afterwards. ^^

It's true but I think that's because of its resembling with usual socials where you just scroll through a great amount of content that don't really worth your attention.
Yes, it faded away since the initial hype. At least it is more wonky, sometimes great, sometimes not at all. I am also only now and then scrolling through them

This is a humorous take on the potential anxiety around DAO proposals some do not even bother take a look. The idea of waiting six weeks after a "wrong" vote is quite relatable in decision-making processes and this comics shed a little light to my little knowledge about DAO.

Yeah. I thought I had video of it when it flew about 10 feet in front of me. Stupid operator forgot to turn the camera on though. lol.
Decided to unfollow and account I've been following for a long time. The KE was quite bad but that was not the only reason, they also barely engaged yet posted almost daily. I'll rather spend voting power on other more active users who may have similar quality content.
That's where I see a problem with the KE number. Not everyone wants to keep all their stake, and in my case, had to powerdown to live on for a while. So it can skew people's opinion based on how much they have kept in the system or not vs what they contribute to the ecosystem
yeah it's just an indicator, i mean it's not like it was difficult to figure that out in the past as a curator based on reputation and current hp, but yeah I'd like to reward those spending more time here and trying to earn a following and appreciating others activities more
Yeah, I have just seen others comment about it too and can see where it could become a problem with scaring people into keeping their stake powered up in fear of losing followers just because they need to pay some bills. Just my thoughts on it.
I wrote a post about it some time ago, to me it's not a big deal personally as long as those users are still providing value in some ways to the network. If all they do however is just post and farm autovotes then yeah, nah.
That being said, I agree with the whole posting and not engaging thing, that is a valid reason to unfollow.
I've suggested @jarvie to add a blog/comment ratio as well.
I find that way interesting than KE.
I wish there was enough activity here that I'd need to follow people to tune my feed. I can check twice a day and scroll for a few minutes to read and reply to every snap!

Slowly but surely chipping away at my goal of 6k. This morning I Powered up 14 hive bringing my hive total up to 5600. In just over 2 months I've earned 100 hive. Here's to the next couple of months hopefully to have gained another 100😎

Is there an issue with the search feature? Mine has not been working for quite a while. For an example searching Splinterlands, one of the most posted about games on Hive only returns results from a month or older under the recent filter.

For today's update, I got new pet. Dad bought her. I'll name her Gwen. We'll get the male (our share) from Dad's cousin who's been caring for our goats so that she'll have a partner and together, they'll reproduce.☺️

I've had nothing but bad experiences with 'em here. But it's an old laptop and I've been looking for a replacement for a very long time. There's just been nothing in the new generations that even remotely impress me...
Let the laptop air for a few days. Put it upside down. It might end up being fine once it fully dries, assuming it wasn't an entire cup.
If you can open it up, that'll also help.
I need for work so didn't have time to air for a few days, but I did exactly that as long as I could. When home, opened it up and found miraculously none of the liquid breached the keyboard layer so, sticky keys aside, SO FAR things are ok...
Today's project screen printed a cyberpunk aesthetic design. Astronaut figure entangled with bright pink tentacles. I like neon colors striking contrast against the dark fabric! This art is for a local brand streetwear we called Snuff. Hope you like this one. 😊
Love the intricacies of the design and yes, the dark contrast on the background really does enhance the main subject!
