What even counts as a longer comment? Does it need to have substance in it or just be a lot of random gibberish?
The script you see just counts the number of characters in the comments.
Our curation team manually checks the comments to see if they are not gibberish, AI, offensive or for another reason don't deserve a Topcomment upvote.
That's good. Are you guys willing to reveal what your minimum character count to not be counted as a short comment?
Nope. We want to encourage people to write engaging comments. Not to focus on making them just long enough 😉

It can indeed! But we have to draw the line somewhere for the script. Lowering the number would mean more comments to check.
And besides that everyone can nominate a comment too by mentioning @topcomment.
