I haven't felt any direct impact yet, but I notice the dollar has dropped a bit against the yen. Although I live in Japan, I like the high dollar as I felt the benefit whenever I converted dollar-denominated affiliate commissions to yen 🥳. I also like the depressed crypto prices, which I think is a false bear market as the fundamentals (especially for Bitcoin) have never been better, so come on, retail Bitcoin holders, let's see a bit more panic selling please! 😱

It's a total confusion and mess. For example, do you know if he postponed ALL tariffs except China, or the ones on cars, steel, aluminum, etc. that were set before are still on, for the EU, in this case.

If they are still on, car producers in the EU are in major trouble (they already were, this is just a final push). Car parts manufacturers in my country too. Less business, less profits, likely workers being let go, if that's the case. And that will affect me and my family indirectly at some point.

Not too much direct commerce between my country and the US, but via intermediaries we get affected if tariffs are set on EU.

The other thing is the tariffs were postponed, not eliminated. The other time he postponed tariffs (with Canada and Mexico), they ended up being set after the deadline passed. What will happen after 3 months or in-between?

Other than that, the volatility in the market can work both ways. Can be an opportunity but also a way to lose money. And since we don't have insider information (like they do!), this isn't a favorable position for us.

I see not bad but also good things.
First about bad side drop of prices of coins. So I even decided not to convert my liquid hive for hbd for savings, and wait a little bit.

On the light side of this story I have fought if price will be almost the same till my next salary I maybe will be ready to spend part of it to get enough hive to stake it and start to run again vsc witness node (as so as they ask now to lock 2000hive to run node)
Also I think it's good time to accumulate Hive and other coins.

Well, I don't know how this will affect my life at the moment here in reality, I think with everything that's happening it's possible that the price of products in general will go up a lot here in Brazil, but I don't know.

On the crypto issue, I basically only invest in Hive, so it's an opportunity to buy cheaper and keep increasing my HP. In this respect, there's nothing new, the price has dropped and I'm buying hive to make POWERUP

Every store is ready to set a higher price because of the US Tariff... 😑 Even the USD against my country's currency went up very high and stocks went down, making me and my friends get a red portfolio. I'm not personally affected, but millions of HIV sufferers are, as Trump stopped funding to South Africa (I think the entire African continent?) Many NGO clinics have had to close temporarily, perhaps forever if no other funding is found. Of course, no ARVs means their immune systems will be compromised, and HIV will become transmittable again! Our useless government health system will not cope with the demand, not only for ARVs but also the illnesses that will follow!
Many innocent rural women get infected by their husbands who work in the cities. They are the ones who will suffer the most, as many of these men have abandoned them. Sorry, I'm not being sexist here, but that is what's happening, and I've personally seen it. Without ARVs, those women will not survive.

There is a financial impact, no question about it. Did the American's election of Donald J. Trump to be their President send an unmistakably clear wake up call for a course correction? If so, are the decisions being made a massive disruptive force bringing about a course correction?

I do not believe these questions can be answered with anything other than a resounding, "Yes!" What can be reasonably argued, as is currently happening all over everywhere, is what the final outcome will be.

Considerably more time will be required to find out. And once determined, whether the American people will vote they approve of it, when their next elections occur.

The devotions of the Trump administration directly affect all the people in Cuba, but that subject is politics and I prefer not to speak from that point of view. As for me personally, one particular definition directly affects my life. Two years ago when the Biden administration implemented the Humanitarian Parole program, we as a family decided to apply. It was a legal and safe alternative to emigrate from the country and we saw it as a real possibility to try to look for better study and future work options for my teenage daughter and for us. As some of you may know, to legally emigrate from Cuba is very difficult, few countries grant a visa of that kind, even to leave with a tourist life is very complex for us, especially for Europe. So the Humanitarian Parol was seen as the best option...until Trump came along and eliminated it completely, erasing all possibility with the stroke of a pen.

Here we are, once again reinventing ourselves, looking to get ahead in a battered economy and not losing hope. Saludos.

Here in Brazil, we have been experiencing an absurdly high inflation rate for a few months now, our basic interest rate has been rising even more, and perhaps this increase in tariffs will make China buy more things from Brazil and perhaps this will raise prices here even more.
