I am a patriot but cannot be an ostrich!

Namaste

Just three days ago, my mother-in-law, who had undergone open heart surgery a few years ago, had to be admitted to the hospital due to breathing problems. After being on a ventilator for three days and a heart surgery, by the grace of God, she is finally going to be shifted to a normal ward tomorrow.

But that midnight when my mother-in-law had trouble breathing, my father-in-law was not able to find his car keys, so he called the same hospital and told them the condition along with the patient's history of open heart surgery and asked them to send an ambulance. The hospital people said that they will call back in 5 minutes and guess what, no call came from them even after 3 days.

Thankfully, my father-in-law got his car keys within a short time and he himself reached the hospital within 15 minutes. On reaching there he saw that the hospital had its own two ambulances parked there and the worst part is that on asking the guard he came to know that both the ambulances were parked there for more than last 2 hours.

It is true that in the last few years, many good changes have taken place in the country but one bitter truth is that here pizza comes in 30 minutes, grocery comes in a few minutes and taxi comes in less than 5 minutes but ambulances never comes.

Some of you might think that maybe I lack patriotism and should not say all this on such a global platform based on one bad experience, but let me tell you that this is my third such experience and all three times the ambulance did not come. And yes I am a patriot but I cannot be an ostrich!

Well, I had a Feel Good moment today when my wife informed me that her mother has regained consciousness and will be shifted to the normal ward tomorrow! 🥰

Hope you enjoyed my blog! 🙏🏼

Hi @untilwelear, I'm so glad that your mother-in-law has come through and that the operation was a success.
With regard to patriotism, I will tell you that I see nothing wrong in saying the situations that are real, besides constructive criticism, are necessary to be able to grow and to be able to improve the processes.
If it is true that our countries have improved a lot in some situations. It is also true that there is still a lot to improve. And what is most lacking is people's education, commitment and desire to work.
Here, in my country, the only hospitals that work really well are those that are run by a community, prepared and organized, with studies of self-management and social accountability. And that means that only two hospitals in the capital work really well, the others work half-heartedly.
And the worst thing is that people refuse to do, those who do well-organized communities, to make things work, that is, comfort and apathy overcome. It seems that it is difficult for us to learn from experiences that do work.
I believe that the final struggle is a process of training, culture and relevance, to help us improve these situations, since we must understand that the public health system belongs to everyone, and that we all have a minimum of responsibility, to make it work properly.
Anyway, what you say, is not a lack of patriotism, on the contrary, it is an appropriate and true wake-up call, so that the hospital system and the quality of life of the citizen in your country, works better.
My best wishes.

But there are people who associate condemning any good or bad thing with patriotism and then questions are raised on you that it must be your fault, or you spread hatred and negativity and this is what should happen to you, etc. But the thing is that in most of the situations no one wants to wake up until something big is escalated, and when someone does something big then on the contrary he is put in the dock.
Some people want to hear their praise but are not ready for criticism, which is the biggest obstacle in improving anything. I don't know why it is so difficult to understand the value of someone's life.

You know, I think that such a poor view, that there is about the importance of other people's lives, as well as the way of judging people in a ruthless and destructive way, comes from a position, egocentric and of superiority.
Since there are people who believe themselves to be more and better than others, and that happens for different reasons, such as social, political, economic, religious, because of the place of origin among many others. Many times we see a person with a disability and we feel more and better than that person, but it does not occur to us that if we suffer an accident, we may be the same or worse than them in the near future.
Or we see the poor person badly, since we are doing well financially today, but we forget that everything happens and that life is in a big wheel, where one day we can be up and another down.
And I think we do all that, and we see it that way, because of the values scales that are imposed on us, and I mean imposed on us, since many times they are not those that come from our family and our education, but they are those that are imposed by social conventions, networks and politics.
That is why it is so important to make a constructive criticism, that is why it is so important to speak and promote personal ethics and universal values of harmony, respect, tolerance, inclusion and others that help us to be more human and less materialistic.
That will make us grow as people, and so we will not judge others so cheerfully and contemptuously. That is what I believe, my dear friend, and I also believe that with our contribution and that of all conscious people, things can be changed, from simple points of view and actions, such as saying good morning, or treating people with respect.
With that, without going too far, we are teaching the people who are next to us, to change the world, with a change of attitude towards life.
That's what I believe and what I try to practice, although I often fail in the process, but when I become aware of my mistake I start again.
Best wishes to you and your family.

Bhai, patriotism doesn't mean suppressing the right to complain about the services. Unfortunately, many people directly link criticism with not being a patriot. We all love our country and it is our responsibility to give positive feedback and push towards betterment.
Did you enquire the emergency team about the incident, Your in-law got lucky. But someone else may not be. You deserve an answer or explanation on why no response was initiated.

Yes, I spoke to them, they said that the ambulance was not free. When I mentioned the guard's name, they scolded him and then the guard also said that sorry sir, I have just started my shift and I was mistaken. :/ aap samajh sakte ho is sab ka matlab!

Apart from some bad things, there are a lot of good things too but due to this one bad thing someone can lose his life and I feel that life should be more valuable than pizza and groceries.

Exactly, ek pizza delay ho jaye ya nahi aaye to chalega. But Ambulance to bhai zindagi ka sawaal hain, Itne casual nahi ho sakte us maamle mein. Really frustrating hain bhai ye sab..

Haan matlab bahut se acche change bhi hain desh mein jo thik nahi hai unki haalat kharaab hai aur sach mein aise bahut log hote hain jo kisi acchi-buri chiz ki ninda karne ko desh bhakti se jodkar dekhte hain aur wo kehte hain naa ghar ki baat hai Ghar mein hi sultao arre hum Kahan chahte hain ye karna par jab desh soya ho tabhi wo AtulSubhash jaise kaam karke jagaane ki jarurat padti hai.

Bhai aacha bolo yaar, Atulsubhash ke saath jo hua kisi ke saath nahi hona chahiye. Aur durdasha dekho aabhi bhi koi resolution ya action nahi. ☮️💟

Good to hear that your mother-in-law is recovering. Take care of your wife's mental and emotional health as well.
The photos are beautiful.

Thank you for your comment. Yes she is recovering and will get discharged in a few days. :)

Thank God that Mama is getting better. But that hospital didn't do well

Hmm but we can't do anything except complaining! #BitterTruth

This is a wake up note, people need to speak out

But they still don't and on the contrary, they associate speaking openly on such platforms with patriotism.

Hmmmn

Hello @untilwelearn, I'm glad your mother-in-law is better.
The health system here is also very deficient and we are walking by faith in God.

Seriously this is too bad. Whereas I believe that it is one of the most important services which every citizen should get the best of. Thank you for your comment!

There are problems in all health systems. In the end, all that matters is that your mother-in-law is better.

Yeah she is better and hopefully gets discharged in a few days. Thank you for this curation brother!😊🙏🏼

Hello Mr. @untilwelearn how are you?

I am very sorry about what happened to your mother-in-law. I am glad that she is doing well and will be transferred to a ward.

The medical service they have there is shameful, and I think this happens in much of the world. It also happens here in the city where I live.

I sincerely hope your mother-in-law gets better soon.

It is important to talk about such bad experiences. No one is perfect but we can always try to improve.
Thank you for your well wishes! 😊🙏🏼

Oh! sorry to hear that experience. I hope the management of the hospital will fix this issues. Speedy recovery to you mother in law.

Yeah hope the same. Thank you for your wishes!😊

You're welcome! Have a good day!
