Everyone was shopping for the traditional gift of Mother's Day flowers. Although I did hear of some people getting their gifts by much more unscrupulous means and stealing plants from front porches.
My kids made sure my deck is looking colorful and ready for summer! The outdoor furniture still is piled in a heap and needs to be cleaned up, and the plants that have spent the winter in the house need to get moved outside. But my son bought me a new hose and has it connected and the water is turned on so that I can keep everything alive now.
The first hummingbirds have arrived back for the summer and the feeder awaits.
I also recieved this beautiful Agate-Carnelian Tree of Life. The tag claims that Carnelian crystals bring creativity. We will see about that, but I will enjoy having it's beauty close by!
I received my first ever Matchbox car! I've bought tons of them for my boys as they were growing up, but never had one myself. It is a replica of the 2025 World Champion car driven by my favorite F1 driver, Lando Norris. Go Lando.
And my most unique, non traditional Mother's Day gift! Hot smoked Mackerel. I'm going to use one and try making fish Chowder with milk, potatoes and leeks and a bit of dill. I will use the other in dips and with crackers.
