Photos All Around

in Photography Loverslast month

Hello, everyone! 😎 📷

I've accumulated many photos lately and thought posting something in this community might be a good idea.
I never considered myself a good photographer (not even now). Still, if I follow the principle of "even a blind man can find a grain, " I would also dare to post some of these photos here.

Here are some photos from the last couple of months, taken in different places and at other times, without any particular context, except that I took them just because I found the objects or situations interesting.
But if there are a few more to remember, so much the better.

📷 😎 📷

Bridge to the island of Pag, from Zadar northwards, towards Rijeka. I usually use the ferry because getting to the island is closer and quicker. If I wanted to go to the bridge, I would have to drive another 100 kilometers.
I went to the bridge because the ferries were not running that day because of the wind. I stopped in front of the bridge and had a coffee.
You can't see it in the photo, but it blew hellishly.

📷 😎 📷

Cactus on the island of Pag. Supposedly, it's Chainlink Cactus or Cylindropuntia imbricata.
Why supposedly? All I have read about this cactus is that it only grows in Mexico and the southern USA.
How did it end up on the island of Pag, Croatia?

Tourist boat in Split harbor. I have been to HiveFest, an excellent event, and I'll try to go to the next one.
I wandered around and, in the harbor, saw this ship.

Diocletian's Palace, or what's left of it. We had one day of Hive presentations in the Palace's basement. It's a popular tourist spot in Split, with many visitors daily.

Another photo from Split.
In the center is a statue of Grgur Ninski, the most famous Croatian bishop of the Middle Ages, around 1000 AD, by sculptor Ivan Meštrović.
I didn't know you had to touch it to be lucky :)

Kohlrabi is a winter vegetable. This picture is from my field. About a month ago, we harvested the summer vegetables and planted the winter ones, which thrive at lower temperatures and higher humidity. There will be some to come.

In my mother's garden, I photographed one flower, the trumpet creeper (Campsis radicans Serena).
I liked the shrub because it was big and bushy.

Copenhagen railway station has a rather large and complex iron roof structure inside. It's a bustling station.

A tower block near the Ikea shopping center in Copenhagen. Architecturally, it is very imaginative and impressive.

T-shirt from Warpigs brewpub in Copenhagen. Owned by Mikkeler. Great beers on tap! 🍻😵‍💫

📷 😎 📷

Two turtles from the lake in my home city park, where I walk when I'm at home.

📷 😎 📷

And now food.
Mongolian-style beef. Han Chinese Restaurant, BTC Ljubljana. Very good. 😋

Beef with roasted noodles. Good, but it could be better.

📷 😎 📷

Finally, a sunset view from my field.

Thank you for your attention.

Hey man, these are beautiful photo collections with interesting subjects !INDEED.

The most striking one was the Tower in Copenhagen. I find it the most interesting because I just really like architectural subjects for photography and the design of the tower looks like something that can only be seen in sci-fi movies. I looks exciting and it could launch/propel up to the space 😅

By the way, is the cactus fruit edible? It looks like something that can be eaten like a dragonfruit or something.

And then moving on to the end, the subset over your field looks beautifull. That’s a great way to end a photo post. Thanks for sharing 😊👍

Thank you. I usually post them in the LMAC Gallery as a public domain if anyone wants to use them. That tower in Copenhagen is beautiful to me, too; maybe its size is not obvious from the photo.
I don't know if the cactus fruits are edible, maybe I should try?
Yeah, I usually end my posts if I have a sunset photo.

I don't know if the cactus fruits are edible, maybe I should try?

Yeah but DYOR first 😅; and check for some thorns (the fine/small ones).

I remember your collage works; you have a unique take on collage. They're nice!

Haha, yes, I understand what you mean. I haven't checked (yet) what's going on with these cacti.
Yeah, I think LMAC Gallery is a good thing, especially if you have a lot of photos and not precisely what to do with them :)

Love the diversity within the places and pictures! Creates a better story for each one of them :)

It varies a lot. I could have done a separate story for each photo, but I chose a few instead. Anyway, I have quite a lot of them, and I will probably post them in the LMAC gallery as a public domain. If anyone wants to use them, let them.

That sounds like a great idea actually! Good luck!

I do this regularly. My 941 pictures. 😎

We have never planted kohlrabi as winter vegetable, so I find it interesting to see. We plant it in spring and it grows through summer. When we harvest we simply plant more, so we have it from June up until now. I'll try to plant it for winter too 😊

Great photos! 😊

Oh, really? It grows here also in summer, but it becomes bigger if you plant it at the end of summer or at the start of autumn. It's very stable at lower temperatures. Here, it's usually harvested at the end of November, or we just leave it in the ground until it is needed. You don't need to store it. It can just be in the field.

Those are really beautiful. My favourite is the tower block. It’s very pretty architecturally. I could stare at it all day. Great job.

Thanks. I was also impressed; it's monumental.

Based on the quality of all these shots... i would say that you are in fact a good photographer! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. I owned a camera years ago, but I only use a phone now.

Nice pictures, i especially Like the Bridge in croatia and the Tower in Copenhagen. I think some people brought the cactus form US and nö IT IS growing also Here, Like thousands of Others plante that were introduced.

Yes, these are my favorites too. Fascinating objects.
It is probably true that someone brought the cactus here, and it grows because the climate is similar. 😎

Manually curated by ewkaw from the @qurator Team. Keep up the good work!

Thank you. I'm trying a bit, yes, but I still don't think I'm good enough at it.
