Beer Tasting: Bewog Buzz & BrewDog King Crush

in BEER19 hours ago (edited)

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

What's up?
It's been sunny and cold here all week, so I've been outside quite often. The chainsaw was singing. It was so intense that I had to take it in for service yesterday. :) 😎
Well, it rained today, and the forecast for next week is rain every day, so I deserved a beer or two today.
Especially since it's already 399 #beersaturday in a row.
The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 399

Today, I have two cans from top breweries, one from Austria and one from Scotland. I trust they will not disappoint, and I am happy to share the experience with you.

🍻 😎 🍻

First of all, the one with less alcohol.

Bewog Buzz Double Dry Hopped Hazy IPA

Brewed by Bewog Brewery, Bad Radkersburg, Steiermark Austria.
Can, 0.33 l, alcohol 5.7% ABV, IBU N/A. IPA style.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Our juiciest beer from the regular range is sure to put a big, hoppy smile on your face and leave you wanting more! A huge, double dry hop addition of Strata and Idaho7 hops, plus a dash of Chinook, brings incredible flavors of mango, pineapple, lychee, and other tropical fruits, with peach and citrus aromas. The hops are backed by a great blend of the finest malts, raw oats, and wheat. The result is a superb, very smooth, silky, juicy, hazy IPA where all elements are perfectly balanced to ensure the characteristic drinkability of Bevogue. Aloha!🍻

🍺

Bewog beers are very highly regarded in this part of Europe. The brewery is in Austria, but it has a Slovenian owner. It could have been in Slovenia, but because the local bureaucracy didn't allow water use, they moved a couple hundred meters further to Austria, where they immediately got all the necessary permits.

The beer is cloudy yellow with an average and creamy head. It smells of tropical fruits. The sip goes smoothly down the throat. The palate starts with a pleasant hop bitterness that lingers throughout and continues with mango, pineapple, and some less citrus flavors.
All these hop and fruit flavors linger for some time in the aftertaste.

It's a very juicy and drinkable beer! Sufficiently pronounced and not overpowering fruit flavors combined with the sweetness of the malts, which, as is usual with IPAs, are more in the background, create a unique beer experience. One of my favorites this year. It's available in local SPAR stores for €2.90, so a sample will end up in my fridge.

🍻 😎 🍻

Let's move forward!

BrewDog King Crush Double Milkshake IPA

Brewed by BrewDog, Ellon, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Can, 0.44 l, alcohol 8.4% ABV, IBU 65. IPA style.

What do the Master Brewers say?

The King is here. And he likes milkshakes. King Crush is a Double Milkshake IPA that's packed with mango and passionfruit. A brilliantly balance of sweet and citrus fit for monarchs and mere mortals alike. Coming in at 8.4% ABV, it's one to sip and savor, so you don't get off with your need. Available now, and it's your Divine Right to try it.

🍺

BrewDog is also, from my point of view, one of the most outstanding breweries. Their Punk IPA is pure gold.

The beer is golden and slightly cloudy in color; the head is average and creamy, and it disappears quickly. It smells of tropical fruits. The first sip goes down the throat smoothly, and, surprisingly, the sweetness of the tropical fruits, passion fruit, and mango comes first on the palate, immediately followed by the bitterness of the hops, which are firmly present in the background. There is no alcoholic taste at all, and the sweetness of the tropical fruit has masked it well. The hop bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for some time.

It's a very juicy and drinkable beer! A top-quality milkshake IPA with passion fruit and mango aromas, a hefty dose of hops, and oat flakes for a creamy taste. I would drink another in a heartbeat, but it's unavailable in local shops, only to order from a specialized beer shop.
The price is not cheap, €4.97, but if you want to drink nectar for kings, you have to pay for it :) 😂

Both beers today were superb, and if you can try them, you won't regret it.

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to when tasting beers and writing this? Something from my
