The situation of playing it cool and safe to be liked and avoid problems is what I am facing at the moment.
I am currently doing an industrial training at an institute that would last for 3 months, and at the end of the training i will have to defend what I learnt and gained from the training in front of my teachers and my other classmates when I get back to school in October.
I am studying animal science and i am there for livestock animals. I started this training on July 1st and the first place I worked was the rabbitary section where I had the priviledge to learn more about different breeds of rabbit and also learnt about their management and production.
I loved my experience at the rabbitary section because the workers there where willing to work with me, and they were very calm and friendly, they treated me with so much respect . They will do some of the work and tell me to do the remaining work , and that made my work easier and stress free.
For this particular training , you have to spend two weeks in different sections of livestock animals such as rabbit, pig, poultry, catlle, goat and sheep . As soon as i was done working at the rabbitary, I moved to the goat section.
Now on getting to the goat section ,i began facing problems and infact I am going through alot of stress.
The workers there don't even try to do anything to even help me out ,all they do is just to tell me to make sure the goats house is clean and not do any work. I will sweep the goat house , clean their water trough , provide them with water on a daily basis and even provide them with feed.
The issue is we the industrial training students are not suppose to do their work for them, the main purpose of the training was just for us to learn about the management and productionof these livestock animals.
I work from Mondays to Fridays free of charge , for a work they will get paid for , and at the end of the day, they don't even appreciate my effort . They have never even for once bothered to offer me water to drink after doing a stressful work, all they do is just to tell me, I did a good job 😒.
To be honest ,I have not been happy with my experience there , but I am just trying to playing it safe to avoid problems and also for me to be in their good books because on a usual day, I would have voiced out and not take such behaviour from any other person.
I even had an encounter with a woman working there last week, where she spoke to me in a rude way and she reported me to the head of the section ,I was scolded at the end of the day, so I am just tagging along and doing all the work , for the time I will spending with them there.
I have also been making sure to set things right because, there was a Logbook given to us in school , to show we really did work at each and every section .
In order for the farm supervisors to help me sign this log book which is very beneficial to me, and also for them to have good remarks and comments about me, that will eventually guarantee me good grades, i just have to to go with the flow and act as if I enjoy working there.
Infact, I have decided and made up my mind to make up a lie that will make me not attend the work for atleast a day this week, because i am actually stressed out and fed up and I need to rest.
