If you ask me, adulthood is completely overwhelming. It comes with numerous and unending responsibilities that drowns you in getting things done for the family, work, community and all. It keeps on like that a rollercoaster.
Adulthood is a tip compared to motherhood. I lost connection with all my single days friends when I became a Mom. All I could think of was taking care of the little one, meeting up with daily house chores and most importantly staying alive and strong to keep going. Just while I was thinking my friends feels am withdrawn, they were also going through same obligations with building their new homes and families.
Distance too had it course by keeping most of us friends apart, living in different cities and countries. Building new friends isn't too easy to do as mothers but with the help of social media, we connect with constant calls and video chats.
The only place I actually share moment of laughter with friends will be at work. Surrounded with wonderful and supportive set of colleagues who had gone far from been colleagues to family. Sometimes during lunch break, we have enjoyable chitchat. It's a moment we always look forward to as it lowers the risk of depression and anxiety, we get to share interest and activities.
If I had my way, I will love to be sixteen again (Smiles).
Sometimes, it's more fun to hang out with friends, I mean like-minded friends than a spouse. If you're a woman or mother who has amazing friends you share moment of laughter, outings and vacations with, you should keep that relationship a high esteem because not all women has the opportunity.
