A mother that I follow on social media shared a story about a month ago. It was about her 4-year-old daughter who passed away in 2023... The mother said that her daughter has unique eyes; she described them as tear drops, or Precious Moments eyes.
Precious Moments happens to be a reference to a very popular figurine collection (or, at least, it used to be popular, back in the day 😅). They were originally heavily inspired by Christianity, but today you can find all kinds of figurines, including Disney princesses! 👸 I still remember my Nana gifting me with one of these figurines for my First Communion...
Anyway, there was definitely truth to the mother's words; her daughter has a very beautiful eye shape. And given that she and her boyfriend recently experienced a miscarriage, I wanted to be able to create artwork of them both, while still incorporating the Precious Moments theme...
And this is what I managed to come back with 🙏 I have not drawn in over a decade, so please be kind! 😅
Honestly, I am quite happy with how it all turned out. I am terrible at drawing hands and feet, and I don't have any complaints this time.
I just used pencil and pencil crayons, a pen to outline, as well as some sparkly pens for the lettering 👍 I will be sharing it with the young girls' mother tonight... Praying that she and her boyfriend will like it...
