Greetings, and happy week, friends of the BEER community. Today, Carnival Monday, I returned to participate in the contest corresponding to the week 400. This is week 400 of #BeerSaturday and I would like to invite @eduardog23 to write a post in any language (English would be great, or bilingual), about beer, with at least 3 images (own).

Saludos, y feliz semana, amigos de la comunidad BEER. Hoy, Lunes de Carnaval he vuelto para participar en el concurso correspondiente a la semana 400. Esta es la semana 400 del #BeerSaturday y me gustaría invitar a @eduardog23 a escribir un post en cualquier idioma (inglés sería genial, o bilingüe), sobre cerveza, con al menos 3 imágenes (propias).

In these weeks it has been atrociously hot. There are days when the temperatures far exceed 43 °C, so we have to have the air conditioning on for long hours, to be able to cool off, and bathe two or three times a day, so there is nothing better to quell the heat than a very cold beer. My husband and I saw this beer that I'm sharing today in the store, and we decided to buy it to see how it goes, because sometimes there are pleasant surprises. And this was a surprise, but a sweet surprise (literally), because of the flavor, because it is sweet!, and it is PRESIDENTE, a beer that is made in the Dominican Republic. The price of this drink is $1.67 per can . Let's get to know this beer!

En estas semanas ha hecho un calor atroz. Hay días en que las temperaturas superan por mucho los 43 °C, por lo que hay que tener el aire acondicionado encendido largas horas, para poder refrescarnos, y bañarnos dos o tres veces diarias, así que nada mejor para aplacar el calor que una cerveza muy fría. Esta cerveza que hoy comparto, la vimos mi esposo y yo en la tienda, y decidimos comprarla a ver qué tal, pues a veces hay gratas sorpresas. Y esta fue una sorpresa, pero una dulce sorpresa (literal), por el sabor, pues es ¡dulce!, y se trata de PRESIDENTE, una cerveza que se fabrica en República Dominicana. El precio de esta bebida es de 1.67 $ cada lata ¡Vamos a conocer esta cerveza!

THE BEER / LA CERVEZA

The color of the can is very striking, as it is predominantly emerald green that makes it stand out on the shelf. On the front of the can, it presents a design based on the first letter of the brand, the P for PRESIDENT, a design perhaps a little anachronistic, but which is its hallmark.

El color de la lata es muy llamativo, pues predomina un verde esmeralda que la hace resaltar en el anaquel. En la parte frontal de la lata, presenta un diseño en base a la primera letra de la marca, la P de PRESIDENTE, un diseño quizás un poquito anacrónico, pero que es su sello distintivo.

I have no reference to the beer industry in the Dominican Republic, the country where this PRESIDENTE beer is from, but the pride they show in the can is notable, because they place above the beer symbol, an arch with the words AUTHENTIC DOMINICAN PRIDE. On one side you can also read that it is a beer made with 100% natural ingredients, and again a slogan that says: THE ORIGINAL FLAVOR OF DOMINICAN BEER. Good for them.

No tengo referencia de la industria cervecera en República Dominicana, país de donde es esta cerveza PRESIDENTE, pero es notable el orgullo que plasman en la lata, porque colocan encima del símbolo de la cerveza, un arco con las palabras AUTÉNTICO ORGULLO DOMINICANO. Por un lateral también se puede leer que es una cerveza hecha con ingredientes 100% naturales, y otra vez un lema que dice: EL SABOR ORIGINAL DE LA CERVEZA DOMINICANA. Bien por ellos.

On the other side of the can of PRESIDENTE, you can read the ingredients, which are: Water, malted barley, unmalted cereals, sugar and hops. I don't know what non-malted cereals they use, and I assume that they use a significant enough amount of sugar to make this beer sweet. You can also read that it has 5% alcohol content, and a content of 355 ml.

Por el otro lado de la lata de PRESIDENTE, se leen los ingredientes, los cuales son: Agua, cebada malteada, cereales no malteados, azúcar y lúpulo. Desconozco cuáles son los cereales no malteados que usan, y supongo que en su elaboración usan una cantidad de azúcar lo suficientemente importante para que esta cerveza sea dulce. También puede leer que tiene 5% de grado alcohólico, y un contenido de 355 ml.

Like all the canned or bottled beers I have bought, this one also comes with a paper tape, with a stamp, indicating that this liquor passed through Customs. This coincides with a side label, which carries information regarding where it was manufactured, and who imported it to Venezuela. When you turn it, at the base, it shows the expiration date, which is August 2025. And as always, we must clean or, better yet, wash, the cans and bottles that we are going to enjoy, to avoid any contagion with any pathogen. Here I use a napkin, just like dad taught me.

Como en todas las cervezas de lata o botella que he comprador, esta también trae una cinta de papel, con un sello, que indica que este licor pasó por la Aduana. Esto coincide con una etiqueta lateral, que trae información relativa a dónde fue fabricada, y quién la importó a Venezuela. Al girarla, en la base, trae la fecha de vencimiento, que es Agosto 2025. Y como siempre, hay que limpiar o, mejor aún, lavar, las latas y botellas que vamos a disfrutar, para evitar así cualquier contagio con algún patógeno. Aquí yo uso una servilleta, tal como me enseñó papá.

When you open the can, it releases a lot of foam and a delicious smell, which is also sweet. When you pour it into the glass, it continues to foam. Its color is a beautiful golden color, and its flavor is surprisingly sweet, not that it is the best beer I have ever tried, it is not, but I find it very curious that it is sweet. However, I took it completely, because the heat was strong, and yes, it refreshed me quite a bit.

Al abrir la lata, desprende mucha espuma y un delicioso olor, que también es dulce. Al servirla en el vaso, sigue haciendo espuma. Su color es un hermoso color dorado, y su sabor es sorprendentemente dulce, no es que sea la mejor cerveza que he probado, no lo es, pero me parece muy curioroso que sea dulce. Sin embargo, me la tomé completica, porque el calor estaba fuerte, y sí, me refrescó bastante.
