My neighbor is a docent at the Lincoln-Tallman House, a historic Italianate-style mansion in Janesville, Wisconsin. It was built between 1855 and 1857 by William Morrison Tallman, who was a lawyer and abolitionist.

When my daughter-in-law was visiting me last week she was offered a tour of the museum and she took these photos.
The Tallman family resided in the house from 1857 until 1915. It was donated to the city on the condition that it be operated as a museum.
Tours of the house depict upper-class life in the latter half of the 19th century, with over 75% of the furnishings original to the house
Abraham Lincoln stayed with the family in October 1859, prior to his presidency. His stay at the Tallman House is the only documented time he stayed in a Wisconsin home
The house also has connections to the Underground Railroad, serving as a potential station for escaped slaves.
