Mallards occur throughout North America and Eurasia and are probably the duck that many of us are most familiar with.
I often have mallards walking through the yard in search of nesting sites and occasionally the female builds a nest on the ground under the shrubs near the house, but because of the raccoons that come around they have never had a successful hatch here.

Did you know that only the female mallards quack? I learned that while reading about them for this post Just when I think I know about the critters that live near me, I learn something new!

Feeding bread to ducks can cause them to not receive the nutrients that they need and that can cause deformaties that prevent them from being able to fly. Feeding vegetables is a better choice!
Maybe they are using the name of the boat to practice spelling or learning their letters? If so this one gets a star for a great letter T.
