Three Tune Tuesday - Arctic Monkeys

Hello, music lovers! 🎵

On #threetunestuesday, I go back to listening to music growing up and absorbing the music I had access to.

Today's post is inspired by the music I heard from my younger son's room this morning. It sounded familiar, but I couldn't remember the band or the song name (you know the feeling, especially if you're older; memory doesn't work so well anymore, haha).

But we have help with that nowadays! 😎
When I opened the microphone on my phone, Google immediately told me who they were. In retrospect, I remembered everything.
Arctic Monkeys is a band associated with indie rock, a genre of music independent of the major record labels. In this genre, the emphasis is more on DIY and artistic freedom.

Arctic Monkeys is a British rock band that has been active since 2002. It has released seven albums, been nominated, and won many music awards. In a career that has only gone upwards, they have achieved worldwide fame and real mainstream popularity, mainly thanks to their energetic performances, extraordinary melodies, and popular lyrics.

They also have a rich archive at Internet Archive, which is freely accessible.

Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor

The song is from 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'. This is their debut album, released in 2006, and is reportedly the fastest-selling debut album of all time.
The song, I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, was the opening single and reached number one in the UK charts. The lyrics and the immediate energy of the moment, which is also the band's hallmark, certainly helped.

Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine?

The song is taken from their fifth album, AM, released in 2013, and is about passion, lust, and longing. An energetic, melodic, almost raw garage guitar riff that gets in the ears quickly.
My son listened to this song, as I mentioned at the beginning.

Arctic Monkeys - Fluorescent Adolescent

The song is from their second album 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' released in 2007. It ironically and humorously discusses carefree youth and the transition to serenity and adulthood we all experience.

And a bonus, a live performance of Do I Wanna Know, from 2013's fifth album AM. A deep, dark hit about emotional insecurity, unfulfilled love, and obsessiveness.
