Hello, beer lovers! 🍻
How are you?
I'm doing great. Although, to be honest, watching this Hive drama, we've really hit rock bottom. Do we deserve this?
I'm not going to think about that right now - I'm on vacation!
It’s scorching outside - 33 degrees - and I’m sitting in the shade on the patio. What just crossed my mind? A cold beer!
Just right for #beersaturday 468.

And I have two interesting beers, one English can and one Croatian can. I’m ready to empty them and share the experience with you.
Let’s go!
Ghost Ship Beyond the Pale Ale

Brewed by Adnams, Southwold, Suffolk, England.
Can, 0.44 l, alcohol 4.50% ABV, IBU N/A. Pale Ale, English.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Inspired by tall tales of the ghostly ships that haunted the shores of Walberswick, you'll discover whispers of aromatic elderflower, bold citrus and gooseberry flavours, with hints of warming rye spice.
Brewed with Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara Malts which add depth and moreish, biscuity hints. A blend of Citra and US and UK hop varieties provide Ghost Ship's bold citrus flavours of lemon and lime, aromatic elderflower notes, and that wonderful hoppy finish.
🍺

The beer is a cloudy light brown color, with very little head that dissipates quickly. It has no distinct aroma. It goes down smoothly; at first, I taste a lingering bitterness, along with very subtle citrus notes and a hint of caramel.
The bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a while.

Very drinkable and refreshing!
A classic English Pale Ale brewed with American hops (Citra + others), which gives it a modern character. It’s just the thing in this heat. I’d have another one right away, but I’m all out. Unfortunately, you can’t find it in local stores. You have to order it from a specialty beer shop.
Top Manager NEPA

Brewed by Nova Runda, Zabok, Croatia.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.3% ABV, IBU 25. New England Pale Ale.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Mosaic, Citra and Styrian Wolf are fruity ingredients in this New England pale ale. Modern twist to classic American pale ale, Top Manager is your Summer Go-To beer!
🍺

The beer is a cloudy yellow color; it has plenty of foam, but it dissipates quickly. It has a citrusy aroma. It goes down smoothly; on the palate, I detect the classic pale ale bitterness with a pleasant aroma of orange, pineapple, grapefruit, a hint of mango, and elderflower.
A subtle fruity sweetness lingers in the aftertaste.

A very drinkable, juicy, and refreshing beer!
If I compare it to the previous one — Ghost Ship is a more classic Anglo-American pale ale (brighter, more biscuit-like, and well-balanced), while Top Manager is distinctly more “hazy and juicy.” It leans even more toward the modern NEPA style - softer, fruitier, and “tropic-ier.
It might actually become my go-to summer beer, since they have it here on the island of Pag, too. Right now, this is all I have, but tomorrow I’m going on the hunt for at least one more can. Cheers! 🍺
And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Something from Friday's #newtunes, which reminds me of the ’60s with Jefferson Airplane and the Velvet Underground, when everything was a bit hazy..
