Greeting to everyone in GEM community, hope you had a good week. When I was exploring the shopping mall near my estate. After months of a store front being covered up for renovation, it is finally revealed to be a new bubble tea shop which a seating area for patrons to enjoy their drink.
This space was previously occupied by Burger King and it is interesting to see that a new bubble tea shop opening here considering that there are other shops selling bubble tea at other levels within the same mall.
However, this shop is a little different from usual bubble tea shops here in Singapore. Most bubble tea shops are usually just a small counter with a small preparation area but for this shop, it is a little different as they serve more things than just bubble tea and that is why they have seating area within the shop.
When I saw the shop name, KEBUKE, first impression was that this is probably Japan based because it looked like the word Kabuki. And I was so wrong! This shop is still from Taiwan, the land of bubble tea. And the work KEBUKE was actually read as Ke-Bu-Ke in Chinese, which actually meant, "thirsty or not" and a good name for a shop selling bubble tea to quench your thirst. And I did a run down in google, they have more than 280 outlets within Taiwan. It is really nice to see overseas F&B coming into Singapore to offer us a bigger variety of food options for us to choose from.
Here is the location/address of this new shop for those in Singapore whom would like to drop by and have a taste of their bubble tea and other desserts.
Shop: KEBUKE
Address: 604 Sembawang Rd, #01-01 Sembawang Shopping Centre, Singapore 758459
And here's showing how the internal of the shop looks like:
I really think the shop put in a lot of effort to make this place look posh and a great place for afternoon tea. Yes, this place actually have afternoon tea sets that one can order. The below is a picture of the afternoon tea set which another friend sent to me after I told him about the place and he told me he knew about the place and came a few days ago and ordered it.
The whole set looked so exquisite, this will be something that I aim to come with my wife and taste it. Love how they have cookies and mini scones with 2 slices of cakes of which I managed to order one piece to try. And the below is what my wife and I ordered. 2 cups of bubble tea and a slice of matcha cake.
The bubble tea selection is not as fanciful like many other bubble tea which have a whole array of weird mixes. With approximately 18 choices available at various sugar levels and topping choices, I personally think the bubble tea they served is really good and refreshing.
Sometimes I guess, being focused to deliver nicely curated tea is better than having a whole array of flavours. I ordered the Rice Oolong Tea while my wife ordered the Signature Black Tea and we both chose 0% to savour the natural taste of the tea.
And here's the cute little matcha cake that I bought as a set with my drink. Size wise, it is a little small but when I compare the size/price across other cafe, the price is actually ok and acceptable. Sometimes a smaller cake might be good too as we might not want to be too full and just want to have a small bite. The nice is nicely decorated with the tea word in Chinese and the layers of cake when eaten together brings a balanced taste between bitter from the matcha and sweet from the cake base.
Super thankful that there is such a shop that opened and bring places for afternoon tea into the heartlands. I do hope their business will thrive to give confidence to foreign F&B companies to venture into Singapore.
Thank you for coming by and wishing you a great weekend!
