Splinterlands Social Media Challenge | The cost of excessive dependence!

in Splinterlands2 days ago

Namaste to all the citizens of Splinterlands!🙏

In this week's 🌟Splinterlands Social Media Challenge🌟, I'm going to share a battle where the enemy's over-reliance on a great card severely damaged him and taught me a lesson, as someone who sometimes wonders about relying on such great cards in certain situations. I'm sure you'll love this small battle with a big card.

Let's take a look at Battlefield before this short but glorious battle begins!

This is a picture of my Brawl battle from yesterday, where we had to build a strong team with just 14 mana using the Lost Magic, Equalizer, and Noxious Fumes ruleset. Normally, you'd be wondering how to deploy the best cards with such limited mana. In this battle, Magic cards couldn't be added due to the ruleset, and Equalizer would set all cards' health to the same maximum base health as the card with the highest base health. By default, you can use a Gladiator card in Brawl Battles, so I deployed two melee tanks on the frontline, followed by two ranged attackers, who would also receive +2 ranged power from my chosen Water Archon. I thought this was the best team for such a battle, but my opponent landed on the battlefield with only one card. However, this one card can't be underestimated, as it boasts 5 melee attack power, 2 speed, and the Bloodlust ability, making it even more lethal.

If we compare the stats of this card, especially its attacking power, with the base attacking power of all my cards, then it was as powerful as all four cards. But here my Archon made my two ranged attackers even more powerful by giving them +2 ranged power, but still, I had no answer to the enemy's Bloodlust ability, and frankly speaking, it was scary to see this enemy card before the battle started.

Now let's see what happens when the battle starts!

Round 1🔥

All my cards performed attacks first, dealing a total of -9 health damage to the enemy, leaving him with only 3 health remaining. Now, before the end of the first round, the enemy will obviously perform an attack, also dealing -5 health damage. Okay, fine, but what after that? Let me show you the ruleset in action.

Round 2 🔥(The magic of noxious fumes)

Although the enemy's defeat was certain even if the Noxious Fumes ruleset hadn't been used in this battle, the contribution of this ruleset didn't leave enough room for me to play every card in the second round. I have a question for you: what do you think played a major role in the enemy's defeat in this battle? Was it due to the enemy's heavy reliance on a single card, or my team's heavy armed range cards, or was it due to the Noxious Fumes?

In my opinion, I think that enemy card would have performed phenomenally if the ruleset didn't have the Equalizer. Yes, the equalizer significantly reduced the impact of the enemy's heavy artillery. Even if my ranged attackers had remained at their base attack power, the battle would likely have lasted until the third round, but the enemy would still have lost.

In Splinterlands, you can't win battles solely on strength; you need to be both powerful and smart. It's important to understand the implications of the ruleset and carefully build your team, weighing all the factors.
