Frozen Feet Reflections in SMARP

in Shadow Hunters6 months ago

Hello Hello Hivians

It's Friday and the weather up here in this part of the east coast of Scotland is cold but nothing like other parts of the UK! We don't have snow or any of these stormy winds!

However on Saturday it was absolutely glorious but freezing, and I grabbed the chance to pop up to our local park.

The park in question is Beveridge Park which I have mentioned many times, so won't talk about it much this post.

As you can see, the vast majority of the pond is frozen over, so the seagulls stayed around Love Island in the middle, whilst the aquatic birds including the swans and ducks headed to the far side where it had not frozen over.

image.png

You can the water there between the mainland of the park and Love Island is frozen over!

The seagulls wondering what is going on!

What do you mean frozen over!

image.png

Well it does not matter if it is raining or it is dry, whether it is frozen over or running water, the seagulls will congregate and create havoc and mayhem where ever they go lol!

But now, decisions, decisions, decisions!

Yes it's that time for me to choose my entry picture!

So here 👇👇👇 is my entry for Reflection Hunters Contest - Round 253

Frozen Feet Reflections

This was a tricky choice.
I am going with this shot as I don't think I have entered a bird reflection before, certainly not ones of seagulls!

I like the way the tree branches and leaves breaks up the picture, probably a but like how the seagulls wish the water could be broken up!

I never know which picture to choose as the entry, and I do try to make a story with my posts rather than just a post and a run kind of thing!!

What do you think? Did I pick the suitable one, or would you have chosen another one?

I though they will be skating on the frozen lake surface.
the seaguls, the annoying little creature isn't it?
!LOLZ !PIZZA !LUV

They are annoying creatures lol

Woah, this place looks beautiful. Here in Nigeria, the heat is scorching. There was no sign of cold weather in December and the New year period.

Yes we need to swap weather for a wee while

We started the day at 55 degrees F and ended it down below 32 F which is freezing for the folks that don't know F. I'm not sure if they do this over there, but in my neck of the woods it gets so cold that people actually drive their cars out onto the ice.

You have seriously cold temperatures, there is no way ice gets think enough to carry the weight of a vehicle over here.

Crazy right?!

Hehe you are telling me!

Its freezing you say but you really decided to venture on adventure 🫠 but well, I think, experiencing a cold breeze would be nothing if you get to see these cuties no? I think I would do the same, only if I am not too lazy to do so 🥴🥴 lol. Those tiny birdies are so freaking cute ✨🤩🌼

We have a saying, the fresh air cures you. Get out for a breath of fresh air. It does help and it is great to feed those cuties!

Dìreach foirfe

Hehe I think so!

Nice choice, the reflections of those rats with wings show well. It is crazy those gulls are still hanging around.

The gulls are everywhere, rats indeed!

You did. It looks like each of them have their own world and mind their own business😁😌

I think they were all day dreaming hehe

Is it always freezing cold during January?
I love your pick, great choice uncle Ed

Well it comes and goes, but this has been a very cold January, although it stayed above freezing today Meya, so hopefully that is it getting slightly warmer. I hope so as I am spending a fortune on heating the house!

Nice shots, but awfully cold! The wildlife if used to it obviously, even the seagull is standing on the ice!

!PIZZA

I was reading in the news in Edinburgh a young swan had to get rescued after being stuck in ice for four days, Had umpteen firefighters involved. Wildlife can adapt though easier than us I think!

PIZZA!

Thank you

It is exactly like this, the intensity of the cold this time is much higher in our city than last year and the temperature is going down to three degrees. The people here do not tolerate such extreme cold. These natural sights that are there look much more beautiful.

It seems to be a cold start to the year which has been unusual now.

I like the image you chose. It was a good choice. And yes, the branches add the perfect touch to the photograph. Hugs

Thank you Nancy and glad we agree.

I remember my first visit to London when I was 16. It took just a week for the pond in Barnes to turn into ice! It was so weird to see the birds standing on it like this. I wonder what happens to the fish?

A few years later though, I discovered that what I thought was cold in the middle of winter was absolutely nothing compared to the weather in Scotland and it was autumn! I remember noticing that even the cows were furry!

We stayed in "The Old Town" and a trip to the ancient cemetery dating back almost 1000 years was made even spookier by all the mist.

I have never been so flipping cold in my life though!

I think the UK is cold until I see pictures from America haha, loads of snow and ridiculous minus temperatures. Oh yes the South East of England and London can get bloody cold too. They have had way more snow that we have here for example.

Mist in a cemetery gives it that authentic feel!
