Greetings to all, in the last week of this turbulent year 2023, a favorable time to take inventory of our lives, our achievements and also our falls, in short, I will not get too philosophical, since the idea is that even with the complicated circumstances, let's learn from what we experienced and be happy (which is not always easy, but we try); and nothing better than music to feel positive emotions, and that is why today I have returned to participate in edition number 135 from the Three Tune Tuesday initiative, from my friend @ablaze, and this time I have brought a great singer: KENNY ROGERS
Although what I like to listen to most is rock, pop and reggae, I also like country, a taste which I cultivated in my childhood and adolescence, and perhaps my first introduction to this musical genre occurred precisely thanks to this singer, to Mr. KENNY ROGERS with his beautiful song “Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town”, which I heard at the end of the 70s on a station in the city where I lived, and yes Well, I was a girl and I didn't understand what the lyrics were about, I was still captivated by the beautiful voice of this singer and the rhythm of the song, a real gem.
Then I heard other songs by this singer, also through the radio stations (A.M.) in my city. I clearly remember “Lady”, a beautiful song, and although it is not in a country rhythm, it is a ballad, like “You Decorated My Life”, and I was always surprised by her hoarse and velvety voice at the same time, a true beauty. rarity. That being said, let's see my songs today #ttt
Ahora vamos con mis canciones / Now let's go with my songs
Since today we are talking about duets between Kenny Rogers and another singer, specifically female singers, I will start with the spectacular song written by the Bee Gee:" Islands In the Stream", which he performs with the wonderful voice by Dolly Parton. It is a total delight to listen to this song, since Roger's husky voice contrasts wonderfully with Parton's, and the melody is beautiful. Let's enjoy it!, live and in the studio, and I also leave you a beautiful video subtitled in Spanish.
My next song is the sweet yet powerful ballad “We've Got Tonight”, written, composed and performed in the early 80s by Bob Seger, which had several versions later. This song is one of those that makes your skin crawl and moves your emotions, which is why I used to listen to it a lot when I was a teenager. In this interpretation made by Kenny Rogers in a duet with the wonderful singer Sheena Easton, we can also appreciate the beautiful contrast between their voices, and the melody is sublime. Here I leave the audio.
And to finish my #ttt today, I bring you another great duet by Kenny Rogers with the Canadian country music singer Anne Murray, performing “If I Ever Fall in Love Again”, a also beautiful ballad and powerful, which reminds me at times of the songs that Peter Cetera made after his departure from Chicago. This song is from 2005, while the previous ones are from 1980 and 1983, respectively, and even with decades of distance, Rogers' voice remains beautiful, powerful; and this proves to me once again that the voice never ages, (if we take care of it). Here I also leave you the audio of this beautiful song.
Este ha sido mi aporte para esta genial iniciativa del amigo @ablaze en su edición número 135, haciendo tributo a uno de los mejores cantantes de country, mi admirado KENNY ROGERS
This has been my contribution to this great initiative by my friend @ablaze in its 135th edition, paying tribute to one of the best country singers, my admired KENNY ROGERS
