ArcadeColony: My good presence on Leaderboard and the FUEL saga.
Today will be the end of the season 23 in the moonkarts game. As you already know, Moonkart is play2earn, kart racing game,developed in unity and can be played in the browser. It has both modes i.e Multiplayer and Single player . Playing single player, do not yeild any rewards and it is more like of practicing the game and the track.
It is actually multiplayer mode where you play against the fellow players and earn or lose points for your performance. Winning races gives you points towards the leaderboard, more point you score, more you progress on the ranked leaderboard of the game.
So at the current leaderboards, I am placed in position 16 and earning almost close to 6000 COLONY. Also my Staking factor is "14" for this rank. I noticed something pecular in the game that rewards staking factor is function of both rank and colony staked in the game. For the same stake, at rank 17, my staking factor was 14.x , but when I moved to ranked 16, it became 14.
Next in the game is the Orbital Leaderboards and frankly speaking in this Leaderboard, you will find that top players are getting as high as 250K + colony tokens, almost 10x rewards then the ranked leaderboard. I also observed that here COLONY rewards are not actually directly linked to rank, but more with the amount of "Orbitals". Look like the Leaderborad distribute the prize proportionally based on the Orbitals earned by you vs all the Orbitals earned by the player in the season.
This may explain the reason that even I am higher in the leaderboard rank in Orbitals, but my earning is just 370 COLONY. Player in the top ranking has 5 million Orbital points, getting 250000+ COLONY tokens as rewards, vs mine only 100K Orbital points, which is fetching me a meagre 370 COLONY.
The FUEL SAGA
As I already mentioned above, that player at top of the Leaderboard is getting 250000 COLONY as rewards because the player collected more than 5 million Orbital points. Collecting so much Orbital points requires you to race for almost the full day daily and require "FUEL" in good quantity. Even someone is playing daily and for full day, can be understood but how someone is getting that huge amount of "FUEL" that is required for such racing commitment?
As I already mention that other monnkarts player called it as foul play and blamed the player at top spot is using some kind of exploit. Unfortunately game was not tracking the FUEL generation and transfer until the last changes that happened on couple of days back. So still it is unconclusive as how the player at top spot was having so much FUEL. Team is not able to backtrack the transaction but with the recent changes we might expect some kind of fair play in coming days or at least transaction posting will give transparency to the game.
My future Strategy.
I am almost done with upgrading my kart, and I need to buy couple of equipment for my kart to reach the point that I had initially thought. Being the top leaderboard player will be hard to reach and require more significant investment, as there is no pack available in the game and all of need to be sourced from secondary market. So my configuration of Kart will be now as such that a newbie will find it much harder to beat it but top ranking players that are upgrading their Kart for now more than a year can definitely beat me.
With the FUEL drama unfolds, I am now putting more attention in producing FUEL. If the allegation of moonkarts player are true and top player actually used the exploit, which will be not possible now onwards, then we will definitely see the FUEL market boom and I wanted to be self sufficient for the FUEL at that point or may be producing surplus to sell.
