Splinterland's Presalse: Players's last-minute rush caused disruption in the leaderboards and raised around $2.4 million Dollar.
Conclave Arcana presale is now concluded and helped team to raise clos to 2.4 million USD. I closely observed this presale and let me divide this presale into 3 phases i.e First Day of Presale, Other days of presale (excluding first and last day), and Last day of the Presale. Roughly in all the phases, inventory sold is almost $800K.
But sale of so much inventory in the last day and in last minute caused so much positional changes in the leaderboards. Players who were expecting to end in top 20 or top 30 , did not ended there. They are a little annoyed about missing the position but they are happy to see the fellow players buying and in the end with all the "Promo benefits" they are still going to get handsome rewards.
it was clear that "Alchemy packs" were the first choice of the players as they are most sold packs(based on value) from the Day 1 and contributed to 50% overall sale. Though we need to wait for the official number to be shared by the team but I guess they are either completely sold off or only a couple of thousands were left. As I earlier pointed out, [Chase for Black Foil is real in the Conclave Arcana Presale.]

Top player in the leaderboard Cryptomancer shelled out close to 100K USD in this presale followed by Bravetofu's $80K. This shows the strong confidence of the player in the upcoming Release. If you are missing the presale then do not worry as General will be going to start in couple of days.
Though the pack costs will remain the same in the general sale but the "Promos Cards" that were available in Presale will no longer be available in the general sale. Also these promo cards will not be further printed. The prizes that top 6 in leaderboard claim and the chance of getting prizes in the raffle for participating in the Presale are over now.
As I previously wrote about the Conclave Arcana New ablities in part 1 and part 2 , I surely feel that one do need some of these cards to be competitive in the Modern Scenario. Having only rebellion cards will seriously affect the winning rate and dream of earning more SPS in-game. So I expect that once Conclave Arcana cards get incorporated in the game, the market sales and card pack sales will gain momentum.
Along with upcoming Land updates and the ability to craft strong items in the Land in an upcoming release, will further make the game more enticing.
Feeling missed out?
I understand that the game becomes enticing and everything is good, but I am not able to put $100K USD or a couple of thousand USD. In this case, you will go for affordability and build your team by buying "Starter packs". Starter pack will cost $1 only but they will not contain any Legendary, Gold foil and Black foil cards. I see starter pack along with the market purchase will be an option to remain in the Modern league.
Effect of Presales in the Tokenomics.
Presales have caused DEC to reach the peg, SPS price has doubled, and SPS/WBNB in the Dex become the top traded pair.
No doubt, at last day till the last minute, Players have purchased packs, so much ranks in the leaderboard get reshuffled and close to 218 million SPS burned that make the 7% of the supply get burned and all of this happened in a single presale.
My 2 cents.
Some can argue that not all the inventory gets sold, so the presale was not a success but if you think deeply , whatever unsold inventory presale had is to be burnt, that marks the scarcity of the cards and pack. With 4.4 million USD for sales, team acheived 2.4 million USD and IMO it is good number if you compare the state of play2earn blockchain games currently. Players spending in access of $50K USD simply shows that players do enjoy playing the game and want to invest in the game assets.
The cards design and abilities proved that team is still creative, players spending money proves that player still love to play the game and team raising 2.4 million in the presale paves the way further for the sustainability of the game and we are going to see more release of the game by team.
If you have not played Splinterlands or will be returning player, then I will say let give Splinterlands a try.
