Nature's healing

in Photography Lovers6 days ago

Last year, all the area around my grandparent's village was devastated by fires. It wasn't the first time the forest burned, but it was especially bad this time. I hadn't been here since September, and although the forest will take time to recover... it's great to see Mother Nature healing!

Spring is in full bloom, flowers everywhere, and bees playing their part in the healing process.

Still, a sharp contrast with all the burned land around.

But right next to the charred trunks, life is blooming! Even in trees that I thought were doomed.

There were some olive trees in our terrains, that burned completely, or at least seemed like it. And yet, when I was inspecting the terrains now...

I don't know if the tree can be saved, but definitely wasn't expecting to see new branches growing from this trunk!

Well, might as well do the best of this. There were pine trees planted in a good part of the terrain, away from this area that was used to plant crops. Adult trees that had been there for ages. Now that they had to be chopped, I finally have the opportunity to plant native species, more fire resistant; the ones that one should see here, instead of the eucalyptus trees already blooming (or planted already).

The little waterfall nearby is still as beautiful as ever, and this time I even found a surprise nearby! Wild parsley, or are my eyes deceiving me?

Nature has a way of healing itself if we let her... even better if we can lend a helping hand!

And miss cow agrees with me too, given how happy it seemed grazing on the fresh fields - I know, I know, she didn't seemed that happy here, but probably because we were in a staring contest... that I lost! 😁

Cuidado, malandro! Aproveita em grande!

Tudo controlado ;)

It is wonderful to see how resilient nature is. And fun to watch how it happens. What recovers first. How it advances. Eucalyptus trees were a problem in California too. Planted because they grew fast and helped soak up wet areas. But they create so much fuel for fires and crowd out the native species.

People here plant them for profit, since they grow pretty quick. But it's a disaster to the ecossystem.

Never have a atardown with a cow! You'll loose evertime
Nature knows how to heal in the prettiest ways!
