Shadows of trees along the roadside and that too in Summer, can I ask for anything else if I happen to be a pedestrian on that road.
On one hand, the black top bituminous pavement is radiating heat and literally roasting the pedestrian, but the silent observer(the trees), not just being an observer but a silent sentinel casting intricate shadows reprieving the pedestrian from the intense heat.
I visited the city 3 days back. On my return, I captured the shadows of the trees along the road. How important it is to preserve those trees along the roadside, not just from the perspective of aesthetic appeal but also from an utility point of view. They are our Natural capital.
Today, I dont see these shadows as an interplay of light and darkness; rather, how cool are they beyond their color to offer to pedestrians in hot summer.
The profound comfort it offers is not less than a gentle embrace for a pedestrian. The harshness of the Summer ends beneath a tree where a pedestrian seeks solace, perhaps settles down for a break.
The sunlight may be the source of energy, but it's a tree that transforms that energy into spirited shadows of utility where fleeting shadows promise the much-needed relief to a pedestrian at the peak of Summer.
The natural air conditioner(trees) grace the pedestrails with cool shade and offer an artistic imprint in the form of shadows to shadow-hunters.
The trees and shadows it cast and the shade it offers are a testament to its generosity and resilience. Let's preserve this natural capital.
