I am posting this in the Feathered Friends Community but I'm also sharing these bird murals with CCC's Street Art Contest. You can see Contest rules HERE
Mile of Murals 2016- Audubon Mural Project Chicago is in the Roger's Park neighborhood. I may have taken some photos here years ago, but these are more recent.
Chicago 'L' Red Line train is elevated on a concrete viaduct over Glenwood Ave. with arched supports and the murals adorn the bridge.
The goal was to produce murals highlighting North American bird species threatened by climate change.
Featured Birds: Tree Swallow, Baltimore Oriole, Peregrin Falcon, Bald Eagle, Hooded Merganser, Mallard, Wood Duck, Black Crowned Night Heron, Black Cormorant, Yellow Bellied Sapsucker, Hairy Woodpecker, Red-breasted Nuthatch, and White-breasted Nuthatch.
Artists: Ruben Aguirre, Cheri Charlton, Andrea Jablonski, Tyra [Slang] Jones, Anthony Lewellen, and Chris Silva.
There are more bird murals inside the viaduct and I will share those photos next time
Information is from the plaque on the bridge. All photos are from my family albums.
Please do not share my posts outside of Hive.
