If you schooled in a Nigerian primary school, you would have probably gotten tired of writing the essay on "how I spent my last holiday"
In my school then, it was a tradition on the first week of every resumption to write and submit an essay on how we spent the last holiday.
Be it mid-term break, End of session break, Easter or Christmas holiday.

I honestly didn't enjoy it then because I felt we could write about other things.
But as a pupil, you got to do what you're asked to do😒
In a bid to have that experience again, I thought to share on how I spent my last birthday.
In all honesty, this is not the account of my last birthday, rather it is that of my second to the last birthday. 😂
But for want of a better title I chose to stick with that.
It remains an unforgettable experience for me as it marked a very special day , the day I was born.

Birthdays are indeed special moments and even though I don't really fancy loud parties and celebrations I love to spend my day receiving showers of love from people that matter to me.
I woke up that morning, feeling grateful for how far God has brought me.
I was greeted with a warm smile from my roommate, also my best friend.
I'll probably need to dedicate another post to tell you about my best friend 😁
So let me just move on now.
She sang me the famous "Happy birthday to you" song and I smiled sheepishly as she sang.
She then prayed for me and proceeded to giving me a gift she had prepared.
It was a T-shirt with the inscription "FruitRite" on it.
[She does branding asides medical practice]
I was so excited. Now I had a T-shirt that carried my brand name😅.
I was about to terrorize the whole environment with my new T-shirt 😂
If I should recount all the things that happened in that day, we'll probably not leave here. So I'll just stick to the highlights 😀

As with every "birthday girl", my phone started buzzing.
Thankfully it was a Saturday. I didn't have to go to classes.
I got text messages and phone calls from far and wide.
One of the most important phone calls which I eagerly anticipate is that from my parents.
They would call to wish me a happy birthday and then shower me with heartfelt prayers.
That reminds me.
You already know how special my mum is to me.
It would interest you to know that for every birthday I marked since I knew my name, she would make a special fried rice delicacy for me.
It was more of a ritual. Lol.
When I got into the university I thought that would end as I was now in a different state, far from home.
But lo and behold, before noon, June 15 of that particular year, my mum showed up in my hostel with a big cooler of Fried rice and chicken 🍗😋
Omohhhh!
I still remember my excitement that day.
I hosted a luncheon for my roommates and school friends😅
It was a sweet experience.
Grateful for the gift of my mother.
Back to how my day went,
I got a call from my Fiance, and he said he was going to take me for a spa session later that afternoon.
I thought I was dreaming 😂
I have only seen people go to the spa in movies.
This was going to be my first time experiencing it, Yipeeee💃💃💃
The day went pretty fast, and before I knew it, it was already time to go for the spa session.
Guyssss!
This is where the real gist is!
So if you haven't already, take a sip of coffee ☕ or cold juice 🥤 and enjoy the juicy gist I'm about to give you😂
We moved to a spa we found on Google which also had nice services that was within our budget.
Entering into the building, not knowing what to expect, I just made up my mind to relax and enjoy myself.
Afterall it was "My Day" 😉
If my memory serves me well, we waited for about 5 minutes for them to get ready for me.
He already booked for a Full Body Massage, Sauna bath, Facials and pedicure.
More like full package. Lol.
As a picture lover that I am, I was with my phone to take pictures and capture some of the moments.
I'm so glad I did, cos now I have some pictures to show you.
Lest I forget, the name of the spa was Dril Spa, located somewhere around Bodija in Ibadan, Nigeria.
I honestly cannot remember in what order the activities happened.
But I think I had my facials done first, then my pedicure, then my Sauna bath and then the full body massage.
The Sauna bath was indeed amazing.
I was told to change my dress into a light weighted robe and go into the enclosed space to allow the steam permeate all my entire body.
I think that lasted for about 15 minutes.
I was also given water to keep myself hydrated within that period.
After that,
I entered a bathroom to have a cool bath and then proceeded to the next stage.
Next highlight was the full body massage.
It lasted for 1 full hour.
I had a female masseuse massage my body with some essential oils and also the hot stone 🪨.
I almost fell asleep, but my "don't loose guard" mentality didn't allow me😂
When she was done, it was as if my whole body was rearranged. Mehn!
Lest I forget, there was soft music being played all through the period I was there.
It sure added to the relaxing experience I had.
I walked down the stairs to meet my fiance who had been waiting for me all the while and I was really happy he made me have such a beautiful experience on my special day.
After that, on our way back, we stopped at our favourite local restaurant, popularly called 'Iya Meta' where we bought "Amala and Ewedu with Gbegiri".

This is an indigenous Yoruba food that I love so much especially when prepared the right way.
It was already getting dark and we both needed to return to our places of residence so he saw me off to my hostel and then we parted.
I was feeling so refreshed and rejuvenated.
This was how I spent my second to the last birthday 😂
Amazing right?
Thank you so much for reading my blog today.
I hope you enjoyed it
