Bothrogonia is included in the group of planthoppers (rice pests) which are widespread in Indonesia, this species is usually easily and very often found in dense weed bushes with cool environmental weather conditions, they are among the leaves and often move from one tree to another through the short flight they perform, this species caught my attention because of their unique coloration and body pattern.
Their body size is relatively small when compared to several other types of insect pests, however, this species will also be a threat if their population numbers are not controlled. If you are a farmer, I suggest that you don't be stunned by their beautiful colors. They usually lay eggs among cultivated plants which then hatch into small caterpillars that will eat the leaves of your cultivated plants, so you must take early prevention to control the population.
The entire body of the species is filled with a bright orange color, but on the head there is a pattern of black spots and a little white on the wings, the legs are slender and look strong, the slightly large eyes make this creature stand out and is very interesting when observed closely, I I was stunned when I saw them while they were on the durian leaves very calmly, they didn't feel threatened at all when I approached them.
