Happy National Family Day!
Today in the Philippines, we are celebrating the National Family Day. The government is encouraging everyone to celebrate and have a meal with our families together. In fact, the President suspended work at 3 pm onwards to give time for government employees to prepare for their family dinner. In the private sector though, it's up to the employers.
Anyway, while not everyone in our family is working in the government, that didn't stop us to have a dinner altogether to celebrate the day.
After dismissal, my cousin, my sister and I went to a restaurant along the way home and ordered some take-out food.
At home, my dad, my uncle and my brother butchered some chicken.
This is our Family Day menu:
Chopsuey Kini-ing. Mixed vegetables and smoked pork meat
Chicken Adobo. Chicken cooked in soy sauce, vinegar and mixed spices
Sinigang na Salmon
Buttered Chicken
Pancit Canton Bihon
Chicken Dinuguan with cubed chayote, onions and garlic
Chili Sauce. This is a must!
Chicken Soup
