Recently some campers came to stay with at our place while my wife and kids were out of town for wedding parties and other family events.
👨🍳 A Busy 4 Nights 🛺

With my wife and daughters in Pursat for a wedding ceremony and party, I was left alone to receive some campers that were making the drive all the way from Battambang. Once upon a time I had a small restaurant in a town called Kampot here in Cambodia, and I also taught Khmer language lessons to foreigners there, and I know these folks because I helped the guy with a little translation and searching for a rental room.

Coming to visit our place was a special escape for these folks, so I made sure to cook 2 or 3 meals each day and also took them on a few day trips. I only have a picture of the tent after I finished setting it up just before their arrival and few pics of them leaving. Everything in between was chaotic because I was here alone cooking, entertaining, working on Hive, cleaning, etc. All in all though we had lots of fun, they compensated me generously, and I got to see some old friends and speak English.
The Family Returns 👩👧👧

Only a few hours after my camper friends left my family returned by minivan and I found myself preparing dinner for them. In the above pic you can see ChairWoman Meow looking down on my wife from above while she searches for the ginger I threw from the balcony. When we do food prep we often toss the scraps over the edge of the balcony, and for some reason while cutting a small piece of ginger, my brain farted and I threw the remaining massive knob of ginger over the edge.
🐾 A Pensive Killer Kitty 🐈⬛

I spent 20 minutes looking for it, and my wife probably spent about the same amount of time, but a nearly fist-sized ginger was lost to the abyss. ChairWoman Meow refused to help locate our lost rhizome, and instead posed for a majestic shot with the blue sky in the background. She is certainly a pensive cat, or at least that's what I'd like to think when I see her sitting and staring at something.

Because we're a vegan house I taught ChairWoman Meow how to hunt for her protein, and although my wife doesn't take Meow on hunting expeditions, her movement in the grass down below still excited our killer kitty. Meow is still scared to go far from the house alone, so escorting her to some new hunting grounds is about the best day she could imagine. As Meow watches my wife below, I can only imagine that Meow is thinking how cool it would've been if she could've gone on the ginger finding expedition, perhaps taking a few detours for lizard snacks. Alright folks, that's all I have for now, it's nearly 2 am and I have been wanting to get a post out for several days, until next time......
