Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because of Astral Entity and its useful buffs.
Featured cards
Astral Entity is a death summoner that costs 6 mana and it gives all monsters the dodge and can use the resurrect ability once per fight. It also reduces my enemy's armor by 2. I have this card at level 2 so I can play cards up to that level. This is a great summoner when magic monsters can't be used.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The ruleset this time is Up to Eleven and Going the Distance. This means that only ranged monsters can be used and all monsters gain the amplify ability. There are 40 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, water, life, or death splinter.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Astral Entity | 6 | Summoner | -2 Armor, Dodge, and Resurrect |
Queen of Crows | 9 | 1st | Close Range |
Great Porcupine | 3 | 2nd | Close Range |
Weirding Warrior | 2 | 3rd | Shatter |
Ravenhood Warden | 4 | 4th | Protect |
Raa | 12 | 5th | Flying, Scattershot and Double Strike |
Soul Strangler | 3 | 6th | |
Total Mana: | 39 |
Astral Entity is my summoner due to its effects and the abilities will help increase my teams survivability while giving me a stronger chance of killing monsters. My Tank is Queen of Crows due to the close range ability to attack from the first spot. After that, Great Porcupine with close range as well. Then I have Weirding Warrior with shatter and Ravenhood Warden with protect. My last two monsters are my damage dealer and Raa is the powerful one. It has double strike so it can deal up to 6 damage per turn.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match. My opponent's armor is negated by my summoner so the only issue would be that taunt monster in the back and that my opponent has a speed advantage over me. So I might be missing a few of my attacks.
Round 3
My opponent lost two monsters all but one monster but I have yet to lose a single monster. My monsters just kept dealing damage and Raa was a beast because of that scattershot. It was able to take out a few of the front most monster even when the taunt monster was alive.
I won this round as I expected.
Conclusion
The battle this time around went as I expected. With this ruleset, it was unlikely for my monsters to use many magic monsters. So removing the armor and letting my damage dealers deal damage directly helped quite a bit. The dodge was there to help my monsters dodge a few attacks and that worked out to my advantage as I dealt quite a bit of damage to my opponent. There wasn't much that my opponent could do as I had a large damage advantage over him.
