Today, we decided to have a small barbecue. My mother-in-law came to visit us, and we took the opportunity to grill some meat. I took out the barbecue grill that had been sitting forgotten in a corner; it had been so long that I could barely remember the last time we had a barbecue.
While I was lighting the grill and preparing the meat, my wife took care of the rest of the meal. She cooked rice and beans, and also prepared a delicious farofa and vinaigrette salad.
It didn't take long for everything to be ready. Right when my mother-in-law arrived, the food was already on the table. There was more than enough food for all of us. It's a shame that my brothers-in-law didn't want to come as well so that the whole family could have gathered together.
It's always nice to welcome the people we love into our home. Even though it takes some effort to clean the house and prepare the food, moments like these make it all worthwhile.
After lunch, my mother-in-law spent quite some time talking with us. Later, my wife drove her back home.

Hoje resolvemos fazer um pequeno churrasco. Minha sogra veio nos visitar e aproveitamos a oportunidade para assar algumas carnes. Peguei a churrasqueira que estava esquecida em um canto; fazia tanto tempo que nem me lembrava da última vez que fizemos um churrasco.
Enquanto eu acendia a churrasqueira e preparava as carnes, minha esposa cuidava do restante da refeição. Ela cozinhou feijão e arroz, além de preparar uma deliciosa farofa e um vinagrete.
Não demorou muito para que tudo estivesse pronto. Bem na hora em que minha sogra chegou, a comida já estava na mesa. Havia comida de sobra para todos nós. Uma pena que meus cunhados não quiseram vir também para que pudéssemos reunir toda a família.
É sempre bom receber quem amamos em nosso lar. Mesmo que dê um pouco de trabalho arrumar a casa e preparar a comida, esses momentos juntos fazem tudo valer a pena.
Depois do almoço, minha sogra passou um bom tempo conversando conosco. Mais tarde, minha esposa a levou de volta para casa.
