First Foreign Coin

in Silver Gold Stackers4 months ago

Working in the hospitality industry, this is the thing that sometimes I like to get, which is to get tips from the guests. I mean,n who doesn't love extra mone,y right? Sometimes it can be good, but other times, I could only get these coin as well.

Some of them I kept at home, which then because of moving stuff and so on, somehow it could hide itself from me, which kinda giving me a hard time to find when I want to photograph them now, and then share it with all of you, to have a foreign coin far away from its origin. ;)

Today I have this Quarter Dollar coin, that was given by my guest. I think given was not a good term, because they let me inherit this for free as they left this in their writing desk at the villa.

The coin was a little bit worn out, which is understandable because of its age. This coin is older than me by a few years. For a human, I was kinda old enough, and already have some aging problem like knee stiffness and stuff. so noo wonder this coin is already this worn out.

And again I use the hive keychain as the background for this photoshoot, which I think works so nicely.

Living in Canada I regularly see US coins circulating at par with Canadian coins. I usually set them aside thinking there will be a day I will travel south over the border and use them there. I have several pounds of US coins at this point.
The quarters are my favorite denomination since they have so many different commemorative coins made.

I am happy that I have this one now, and surely I will keep it, maybe I could share my growing collection in the future. Hoepfully.
I wish I also could get some Canadian coin in the future.

That Coin is a keeper for sure... It will be worth plenty, even in its worn out condition...

I will keep them in my collection, maybe I can sell them for a better price next time, or my son can inherit it. hahah

It will get you 25 Cents in Electronic Coinage that will have the Spending Power of 25 of today's Fiat USD's...

Hey hey, maybe I can make you happy
The coin may be worth more than the regular price, which is around $0.3 to $0.4
Because of the angle of the picture
It looks to me like the front of the coin was slightly bent during the minting process. Here's the error I'm talking about https://coin-identifier.com/blog/historical-coin-profiles/the-1985-quarter-simple-yet-collectible
See under : 1985 P Quarter Errors 3. Clipped Planchet
It would be best if you took it to someone for a live appraisal
And here you can find more info about the coin itself
https://en.ucoin.net/coin/usa-1-4-dollar-1985/?cid=11724

ah thank you so much for pointing it out my friend, I will take a better look next time. But I think it is because of the angle of the camera that make the error visible.

Coins from other countries have become my favorite to collect. I think it is because I can learn so much more about the history that I do not know. Good luck in finding more coins from other locations.

thank you so much my friend, they are so beautiful for sure. And yes it is always interesting to learn the history while having the coin in the collection.

Way to score a quarter, pretty cool to come across one there!
