If you are reading this post and happen to be a street dog or cat located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, you need to keep your eyes and ears open for this featured ASEAN Hiver. This man is in the business of looking out for and protecting street dogs and strays, and the occasional kitty too.

Whether it be vaccinations, surgeries, providing a little snack, or even working with the local monks and citizens to care for furry friends of the street, this man is ready to roll. I can't remember whether or not his organization is a registered 501 non-profit, but it certainly is an entity that relies on donations and the good will of humans to keep this project going.

His posts are often filled with first-person views of what it's like to meet the street strays of Chiang Mai and surrounding areas. Treats often go a long way in building trust and getting a dog to approach you. I am a former dog enthusiast turned lover of cats, so I like seeing the odd feline here and there in his posts.

Obviously this man is busy with his work helping strays, but he still makes a little time for Hive now and then, and usually has an active post. It's quite simple, if you love animals you're probably enjoy this guy's blog, and of course there is also a wholesome heartwarming aspect to it. I met these guys when I was living in Krabi. They really are as selfless as they claim. I recall from living there that roadside carcasses of dogs struck by cars were a regular thing you would see and it made me really sad. I couldn't take Nadi out to the street very often because there was always some sort of roaming pack of rather aggressive dogs. This stunted Nadi's social capabilities because since she is so small I was always worried she would get hurt. Therefore she grew up not really liking any other dogs because she never really met any of them.

Awww, poor Nadi. My cat has grown up partially feral, but all within our fence, so she missed out on being social with other cats. For this reason she sees all cats as a menace and a threat. Nadi is lucky to have you and not be a Chiang Mai street dog despite the awesome work this guy does. She'd be a tasty snack for the average Cambodian street dog too.

Unrelated sidenote - Cambodia was the first place I saw a dog live through rabies and come out the other side. I had to google it in disbelief, only to learn some animals survive it and become carriers while appearing to be normal and healthy.
