A working system

I’m too excited not to share this. In December 2024, a new president was elected in Ghana and during his manifesto, he said he was going to reset Ghana. We all know how these politicians can lie so I never paid attention to any of what he said but for about a month now, the sitting government has grabbed my attention.

First of all, in all my years in this country, something that has never happened before is for the cedi appreciating for months. Normally all we see is massive depreciation all the time. But in the first 5 months, our currency has appreciated by 24.1%. I’m not sure if this has ever happened but as I said I haven’t seen some before.

The highlight of this is how vendors are actually reducing prices of products. Yes, you heard me. There’s been a significant decrease in the cost of items. It all started with fuel and then it moved to other items like groceries. Now, even building materials have also been reduced.

Of course there will always be the greedy ones who will choose to maintain the prices of their goods and services. But thankfully, most of the companies are coming out to give a general price for their products and that makes me very excited as it solves a lot of problems. Nobody has to fight anyone about the price of an item when the company itself has done a broadcast about reduction in prices.

Another thing that has been shocking me in this country is how the leaders have been carrying themselves. Some weeks ago, a government official gave money out to someone and it went viral on the internet. When he got confronted, he apologized. Wait, I don’t even think he got confronted, no no. He came out to apologize on his own and I was so surprised.

I’m not saying he’s better than citizens but then my shock stems from the fact that none of our past leaders were ever seen apologizing on their own. Oh anytime we saw a leader apologize for something wrong, it was mostly after he was dragged for years and probably even sued. So understand me when I say I was shocked.

There are so many things that have been working and it just makes me happy, really. I actually had to go back to read the manifesto of the current president and I realized he really has been doing all that he said. Hopefully, our leaders continues whatever they are doing for a better Ghana.

The government knows what to do... Hope Tinubu sees what his mates are doing 🫵🏿. But Economically, what did he do differently to bring about this Economic prosperity. What policy did he use??? Let me go to Google before you will come and provoke me.

🤣🤣🤣 I don’t know what to do with you
