Hi dear community members!
I wanted to share a little adventure we recently had to the old part of the city where I live. Even though it’s just a 30-minute drive from our home, we hardly ever go there. When my kids asked me about it, I realized we’d never actually taken them before!
It’s a bit ironic — people travel from all around the world to visit this place, and yet, we barely make the trip ourselves.
The old city is famous for its stunning 17th-century architecture, and the cityitself is over 2,000 years old. It's always been a cultural and religious hub. At night, it looks absolutely magical, while the daytime summer heat makes walking around almost impossible.
The area was lively and full of people. We explored charming little shops selling traditional dresses, jewelry, accessories, and all sorts of historical souvenirs.
I think the trip was a unique experience for my kids, though to be honest, they seemed more excited about the children’s playgrounds nearby than the ancient architecture! 😂🤣
Still, we’ll definitely go back when they’re a bit older — hopefully next time they’ll enjoy the history a bit more.
Have you ever explored your own city like a tourist? Sometimes the best places are right under our noses!
