Hello, beer lovers! 🍻
How are you? Still concerned about what's happening on the crypto markets? Slow down. Everything that goes down will eventually go up, so don't panic. Have a beer, today is #beersaturday, already the 437th in a row.

Two bottles await me, one Slovenian and one Italian. I will empty them and gladly share the experience with you.
Tektonik Normal

Brewed by Tektonik, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.1% ABV, IBU 25. Pale Ale.
What do the Master Brewers say?
NORMAL is an authentic summer beer, but it is also suitable for gloomier days. In all respects, it is a relatively undemanding beer, which in this case is a compliment! – as its light body and subtle flavors and aromas call for another glass. It is characterized by a golden yellow color, derived from a blend of predominantly light-roasted malts. These create just enough sweetness to fill the body, while a few percent of light caramel malt and unsweetened wheat provide a pleasant viscosity. A subtle bitterness nicely balances this. For this pale ale, which we brewed following the example of American craft brewers, we used Slovenian experimental hops (which do not yet have a name and are currently only identified by a code) as well as some renowned American hops, which express themselves in aromas of citrus and exotic fruit, with some floral notes also detectable.
Tektonik is one of the better-known Slovenian craft breweries, operating since 2015. I have tried most of their beers and can say that they do not disappoint.

The beer is a clear yellow color, with average foam that quickly dissipates, and smells of hops and tropical fruits. It goes down smoothly, and I can taste the pleasant bitterness of hops, which is later joined by a slight citrus aroma.
The bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a while.

Refreshing and enjoyable!
However, I agree with the brewers themselves, who state that it is not particularly special, just a standard pale ale with all the usual flavor components. Indeed, it's a classic, and I concur with them on that point.
It is available in most local stores, priced at €2.50.

Italian beer is waiting!
Mastri Birrai Umbri Italian Pale Ale

Brewed by Mastri Birrai Umbri, Perugia, Umbria, Italy.
Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 6.5% ABV, IBU 50. IPA.
What do the Master Brewers say?
The traditional British style inspires the IPA from Mastri Birrai Umbri. It is a top-fermented beer with an intense, cloudy amber color, coppery highlights, and a compact, persistent head. The nose is distinguished by the aromatic intensity of American hops, with citrus and resinous notes from dry hopping. An assertive bitterness characterizes the taste, but is balanced by roasted malts that impart flavors of caramel and chestnut honey. The aftertaste is dry and persistent.
Very high IBU (International Bitterness Unit) rating – 50. I'm really interested in how bitter it is.

The beer is light brown, amber in color, with average foam that quickly dissipates. It has no particular aroma. It goes down smoothly, with bitterness dominating the palate but not to an extreme degree, and a slight sweetness of malt and hints of caramel in the background.
In the aftertaste, everything disappears except for the bitterness of the hops, which lingers for a while.

Delicious and refreshing!
I expected extreme bitterness from the 50 IBU, but it's not the case here. It's moderately bitter. Unlike American IPAs, it has no tropical flavor, but you can taste the sweetness of malt and caramel. They did a good job brewing this one.
It's not available locally, so I bought it in Italy at the Famiglia store for €2.80.

And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer?
Something from Friday's New Tunes selection. Legend!
