Looking through these pictures, you really won’t believe that she is seven years older than me. As the last born of my parents I guess they almost gave up on child bearing, and most especially having a male child before they finally decided to give it a last chance.

I grew up with five elder sisters with various unique characters, but in this post I would be discussing my immediate elder sister and I. Her name is Feyisola but she prefers people calling her Favour. I had always looked up to her and my other sisters since I was a little boy till I literally became taller then all, lol. Just joking 😂.
Even though sister Favour is seven years older, she is still the closest to me because my other sisters are way older that when I was growing up, some of them had gained admission to the university, some where no longer living under my parents' roofs, and the eldest was married at the time. You can imagine the age difference right?

While growing up, I remember that I always step on her toes, not intentionally though, but playfully. I would pick up any object I see and play with it. Sometimes I eventually get them spoiled, sometimes I misplace them.
Sister Favour on the other hand, does not like it when she starts to look for her things and can’t find them or find them and discover they are spoiled.
You know what she would do when she finds out that I have tampered with her things? She would wait till my other sisters and parents are out, and the only people left in the house were the both of us. Then she would ask me to kneel and fly my hands, giving me a spank on my hands whenever they are not properly raised. I never liked it whenever we were both left to stay at home, but that won’t stop me from playing with her things next time. So, I got punished by her more times than I could remember.

Nevertheless, my love for her is priceless and hers for me as well. As we continued to grow, of course, I became more mature, stopped spoiling her things and we became best friends. Sometimes, when I look at the pictures we’ve taken together, and remember the memories of our childhood till this very moment, I really can’t ask for a better immediate elder sister.
Do you know that before she got married, I was her next of kin, but I am sure if I am still the one😂, but she is still my next of kin, hehe……..

I remember when she was in the university and I was in secondary school. I would always look forward to holidays just to travel to her school and spend at least a week with her, and in just one week, trust that my elder sister will take me to places like the mall, nice restaurants, a cinema, the pool and many other interesting places. Oh! Yes, she taught me how to swim.
Even when she went for her NYSC service after school at Enugu in 2017, I made sure to visit her before she was done serving, in which as usual I had fun while I was there. One of the places we visited in Enugu was the Nike Lake, it has a nice view with crocodiles I said it and a cool sitting resort somewhere around it with security caution posts all over the place, enabling visitors to sit around and enjoy their view.

Here is the last picture we took together. This picture was taken on the 20th of December last year during the holidays and festive period.
A short note to my sister.
I thank God for giving me you, and for bringing us this far. We really do have a lot to achieve, we will keep pushing until one day, we’ll look back at this day with a smile on our face, knowing fully well that we fought through life and its difficulties and we made it out successful and victorious. I love you big sis and I will always do. God bless you
