Hello, everyone! π π·
I continue with highlights from HiveFest 2024, which took place in Split, Croatia.
Today, in my favorite community, Shadow Hunters, one of the oldest on the Hive Blockchain.
Traveling to Split by car last Monday was a real challenge. The icebreaker the next day was excellent, and the next two days were filled with great talks on Hive's present and future vision.
There were two locations for the presentations, and on Wednesday, when I was walking around the city looking for the MeΕ‘troviΔ Gallery, where the first day was happening, I was also hunting for shadows because it was sunny and there were a lot of shadows.
On the second day, there were fewer because of the clouds.
It was about a twenty-minute walk to the gallery from the seafront, or the main promenade, called the Riva. I was expecting to catch more shadows, but I didn't. But there are a few.
Split is Croatia's second-largest city, with around 200,000 inhabitants. Like Spalatum, it was built around the palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century AD and is now under UNESCO protection as a cultural monument. As an ancient city, it is also very touristy.
By the way, the Emperor gave a keynote speech on the second day of the lectures, where he welcomed all the HiveFest participants. Very interesting; you can listen to it here - The Emperor Speech on HiveFest 2024, with transcript :)
After walking for about 20 minutes, I arrived at the gallery's entrance, where the presentations would start in a few minutes.
Note: While testing it, I posted the following two photos in the new Waves - a short content app.
As shadows are on them, I think they are in context, and it won't be wrong if I post them again in a longer post, mainly to show the place of the event.
Due to the shadows of the tent frame on the Hive billboard on the left, here are two more photos of the main stage. The mood was high, and all the presentations were engaging.
On the second day, presentations were held in a hall in the basement of Diocletian's Palace. As I mentioned before, it was cloudy, and catching shadows in these conditions was more challenging.
First, a 3-D map of ancient Split.
Entrance to Diocletian's Palace, Roman guard at the gate, and Splinterlands flag :)
The hall in which the presentations were made was very colorful.
I caught a few shadows outside when the sun came out of the clouds.
That's all for today, thanks for your attention.
