Yet another episode of shadow hunting. Shadow hunting at night continues to be my regular cup of tea. It truly fascinates me a lot. It has become a passion of late.
An abandoned immersion heater becomes the object. And it casts a nice imprint on the wall. The openings and horizontal beam of light from the street light did the wonder once again.
Before you try to impress anyone with your work, you must be satisfied first. And when I captured these shots, it evoked a sense of satisfaction, and suddenly I got excited to post this stuff on Hive.
The whole setup is making me feel like an abandoned corner, spilling stoic reflections where everything is momentary and ephemeral, forgotten, and forsaken.
This feeling is born out of light and obstruction, making us realize who we are and what the bottom line of our presence and its ephemeral traces are. When we realize this the "intangibles become our source of happiness".
A shadow is a metaphorical inquiry of our reality and the vivid reply to the question-- Who am I?
We measure the worth from the standpoint of utility; when it becomes dormant or defunct, its purpose is extinguished. That raises the philosophical question of your self-worth.
If you value the measurable only, soon you are going to be dormant or defunct, because everything in this world has an expiry. That's where shadow can answer because it is the shadow that is a testament to your former presence.
Shadows are the absences that signify presence, intangible yet visible. A shadow is a virtual human experience between being and becoming. Our legacy is our true shadow; that legacy lingers beyond our physical presence.
A shadow on the wall and its imprint are metaphorical to humans' existential longing; it is the dreams unfulfilled, it is the purposes abandoned. "What might have been"-- is the song of shadows!
Shadow, a fleeting phenomenon, ephemeral, symbolizes impermanence when traded against time. That is where the mindful moments set the tone of life and remind us of the "Buddhist concept of anatta".
To be continued......
Thank you.
