My talk show would look like
If given the chance to interview any public figure, I would choose to sit down with the President of Nigeria without hesitation. As head of state leading Africa's largest democracy, his policies and actions impact the lives of over 200 million Nigerian citizens. I believe questioning him directly could provide insight into addressing the immense economic challenges average Nigerians face today because it is really a serious thing we need to look into, people in the country are really going through a lot which most of the government officials don't ,let just pretend they don't know because I know too well they what masses are facing .
My motivation stems from witnessing the stark poverty and daily struggles of my fellow Nigerians firsthand. Over the past decade especially, standards of living have dropped while costs of basic necessities have become exorbitant. Too many hardworking people across industries face unemployment or work without fair pay or labor protections. Access to healthcare, education, electricity and clean water remains limited for the masses which is not supposed to be ,I think both the rich and poor supposed to have the access to the good things of the land.
Meanwhile, Nigeria is Africa's largest oil producer, generating billions annually. Yet very little of this national wealth seems to benefit everyday Nigerians. Corruption siphons off public money that could be invested into infrastructure, social services and local job growth. The suffering only seems to intensify despite national resources that could alleviate poverty if properly managed, just short of words.
As President in charge of public budgets, policies and vision, I believe he has the power to steer Nigeria in a direction that uplifts more citizens from our current economic plight. I would ask tough questions about priorities, policies and plans that I feel don’t do enough to support Nigerian people compared to political elites, masses truly need government help
For example, I would ask why major investments are still lacking in solar microgrids, irrigation for agriculture, vocational training programs, public transportation, and digital governance tools to cut waste. And why policies to strengthen unions, raise wages, improve schools and expand loans for small businesses aren't being enacted ,they are just uncertain.
I would also inquire about the pervasive corruption that continues limiting how much public funding benefits the nation versus lining politicians’ pockets. Reports of billions in oil revenue going missing undermine the public's faith. I believe transparency and accountability reforms are vital and it is very important to everyone ,it is really better that way.
While the presidency alone can’t instantly resolve challenges in a democracy, Nigeria’s leader sets the tone. I believe shining a spotlight through respectful yet firm questioning could push for policies that put improving livelihoods first. It gives a voice to the millions struggling through an interviewer who asks on their behalf: How will you uplift your people?
These is what I am go to do if it happens that I have a talk show
Thank you for reading my post.
