In the Valley of Discovery | LMAC FreeStyle Collage No. 133

LMAC-FreeStyle-No133.jpg

Hello LMAC and Hive members. I wanted to share with you my current freestyle collage with a theme of discovery. My intent was to detail the old and new as two men set on on a mission. From rugged terrain, across a low mountain range, and finally arriving at a valley, what they ultimately discover as they gaze into the night's skyline is one of amazement and disbelief.

My collage is a freestyle version. If you'd like to join in the regular community contests, visit: Let's Make a Collage - A Contest for All Creatives on Hive - Round 237 - ✨30 HIVE in the Prize Pool!.

In preparing my theme, I wanted to depict a divide between the real, harsh world and that of fantasy. I think the images I chose of dark and light elements accomplished that.

I utilized Canva, my design program, and uploaded all images to blend them. Below are my steps in which I began with a blank, white canvas, then added layers of elements, removing backgrounds, resizing, duplicating, colorizing, detaching elements from their backgrounds, and repositioning items as needed incorporating the tools at my disposal in my Annual Pro Membership Subscription.

The images I included are listed below. Browsing the previous LMAC contest photos and , I was able to locate a lovely water element to replace the dry bed in the current contest picture. I also added free-sourced ones, and my pure fractals I created in the advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X.

One of the distinctions of your collages is the emotional element. The sense of a journey is palpable in the two men at the center of your piece. I'm not sure how you do that, but one thing I notice is the light. Not only is there light in the 'front' of the picture, but even a detail, such as the wanderer's pedestal, has light in front but not the back. I wouldn't have noticed this, except that I was looking for an explanation. The meaning of many symbols (in your work and others) sometimes escapes me, but with a simple thing like light you communicate the idea.

Very skillful, of course, and lovely.

You are absolutely correct @agmoore in reference to the light. It's the dividing line between discoveries. The angel searches for solitude, to escape from the spotlight into the other side. The men search for bright lights and excitement and whatever is beyond the mountain ridge from their daily drudgery. I hope each achieves their desires.

Thanks so much for your visit and insight. Attempting to find hidden meanings behind works is sometimes extremely difficult. I think that's why any form of art is subjective. You get to see and feel what touches your consciousness. And as always, each reader and viewer will experience something difference. I always look for the dark side...what's hidden behind first impressions.

Take are and have a lovely rest of your weekend. I appreciate your support.

This is lovely 😊

Beautiful collage, especially because of its great meaning. Always following a path between the new and the old, we arrive at wonderful discoveries, which through the third eye—that of the soul, that of the heart—allow us to find the truths of this world.

Above all, the inner discovery that requires a lot of work can be a long journey, but the reward is beautiful, and that pink color indicates universal love to me. Enchanting work, thank you very much!🤗

Hermosa composición, como siempre, saludos amiga🤗
