Drawn To You.

"Lucas, stop whining and get your things ready. We are leaving a few minutes from now," Mark hastened his twin brother and went out of the room to continue with his preparation.

Mark finished packing and met Lucas still laying on the mattress.

"Are you serious right now? Just let me know if you are not interested," Mark said angrily.

"The last time we went camping, it was more of a torture than fun for me. It wasn't what I expected," Lucas replied. He turned around on the mattress and sighed heavily as he stared at Mark.

"When will you grow up, we aren't kids anymore. What were you expecting the other day? A gathering to study books or read novels?" Mark asked jokingly.

"No, it's not that. I expected more than just games, food and music throughout the seven days. There are a lot of things we could have done," Lucas replied.

"That's true. We have more activity planned this time and you have to see for yourself,' Mark replied.

"Really? I bet all this persuasion is just because you can't drive and you just needed me to drive the truck," Lucas replied and Mark burst into laughter.

"You caught me. Let's just go have fun, your life needs it. You are too boring," Mark teased and dragged Lucas out of bed immediately.

The brothers packed and set out on the trip to camp with their friends.

Mark and Lucas are twins, everything about them is identical except their attitude. Mark is an extrovert while Lucas is the opposite, he doesn't have friends and barely steps out of the house except for work.

Every summer, Mark and his friends always went camping in the city but all that changed the previous year. They suggested going to a different state and due to Mark's sight condition, he convinced Lucas to join him for the trip so that he could drive.

Lucas felt like it could be an opportunity for him to do something different, meet people and have fun but things didn't go as planned for him.

"We have more people coming this year and the fun will be massive," Mark said as Lucas drove through the tunnel out of the city.

"You said more than this the last time," Lucas replied.

They arrived at the camp and met other people there as well. Nothing was exciting and Lucas just stared at the familiar faces with disappointment.

"Nothing will be different, I can bet on it." Lucas thought.

"I think it would be okay if I return home tomorrow morning and pick you up when you are done or you can probably join your friends," Lucas said to Mark as they offloaded their things from the truck.

"Really? Okay, just do as you wish. I can't force you to stay," Mark replied.

They finished setting up their tent and Mark went to join his friends while Lucas just sat in the tent.

He brought out his phone to surf the internet but there was no network and trying everything he could do without getting any results made him frustrated.

"Where is Raphael?" Mark asked while exchanging pleasantries with his friend.

"He said he would be here soon with some friends," Maria replied.

"It's been a while and I can't wait to see him," Mark replied.

As the sun was setting, Raphael arrived with his friends and they were excited to see new faces.

Later that night, they gathered around a fire just to catch up with a lot of things but Lucas didn't find it fun as he couldn't use the internet.

Lucas finally left the tent hoping to find a network outside so he strolled a bit away from others.

He stretched his phone to the sky hoping to find the network and while moving slowly, he saw someone also trying to get the network from a distance.

"I think we have the same issue, I can't use my phone. It's really annoying," Lucas said as he walked closer.

"Yeah, it's frustrating. I feel like smashing the phone right now," She replied.

"I am Lucas, Mark's twin brother. The lousiest guy in the camp," Lucas introduced himself.

"Oh, it's my first time. I don't know anyone yet except for Raphael who invited me here. I am Loveth and it's nice meeting you," She replied.

"What a beautiful name," Lucas replied.

"Yours ain't bad either," Loveth replied and they started chatting from there.

The two spent time together trying to get a network but couldn't till nature called.

They retired to their tents and Lucas was happy to have found someone he could connect to with just a short interaction.

Morning came and Lucas woke up early.

"You won't say goodbye," Mark asked as Lucas stepped out of the tent.

"Who told you I was going?" Lucas asked and winked at Mark.

He returned to the spot where he met Loveth hoping she would show up again and she did. They exchanged greetings before Loveth suggested that they find a high spot where they could get a connection.

Lucas agreed and it was fun for him. They talked about life, family, careers and many others before finally getting network.

The two were happy and agreed to visit again the next day. Going in search of a network didn't just bring them closer but it also ignited a feeling of love.

"You still haven't told me why you chose to stay after all that threat about returning home," Mark said to Lucas on the evening of the fourth day.

"It's none of your business," Lucas replied jokingly as he went out to spend some time with Loveth again. They spent time talking about books and movies which made Lucas happy. He didn't feel like Loveth was a stranger, they interacted like they had known each other for a long time.

"I always thought I had problems with connecting with people other than my family," Lucas said to Loveth on the 7th day while others were packing their stuff to return home.

"It happens like that but it took us less than seven days to connect properly and I feel like we can stay here a little longer. What could be the reason?" Loveth asked.

"I can't explain but I feel drawn to you always since the night we bumped into each other and I can't explain the feeling," Lucas replied.

"Hmmmm, I get that. I feel the same way too and that's why I am always looking forward to meeting you here," Loveth replied and let out a beautiful smile.

Lucas couldn't help but smile as he watched Loveth's lips dance back and forth.

"I would really love this not to end just here, so we can get to know ourselves better. Or..." Lucas paused.

"It would mean that this trip wasn't in vain at the end because I didn't want to come here just like you," Loveth replied.

"I guess our hearts drew us here," Lucas replied and hugged Loveth after exchanging contact.

"I will hold on to this till we meet again," Loveth muttered and they laughed.

"I think you caught a big fish," Mark said to Lucas when it was time to leave.

"I can't see any fish around," Lucas replied.

"I saw you hugging a lady from afar," Mark replied.

"Oh, you mean Loveth? She is a sweet soul," Lucas replied and hit the road just like other friends did.

Sort:

I enjoyed their little chemistry at the camp. It was an adventurous love story that kept my eyes locked in. Happy for Lucas. Atleast his trip wasn't in vain.

Yeah, he didn't go in vain. They both got a beautiful gift at the camp, I am happy you enjoy reading.

It's good that he went, and found someone special :) Hopefully it won't be a year before they meet again!

Yes. He could have missed out on meeting a beautiful soul like loveth. They will definitely meet, hopefully.

Thank you for the curation.
