The unpredictable future

in Weekend Experiences2 months ago

Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome 🤗

This particular question: If you could make the world an amazing and beautiful place where humanity thrived in the future, but doing so means killing every person currently existing on the planet to start from scratch, would you do it and why/why not? is interesting and complicated at the same time.

I can't imagine how it would be living in a world where humanity lives in perfect peace and harmony. a place where everyone is living their lives to the fullest fulfilling purposes and their goals. It's going to be a perfect world.

The only problem here is I would have to kill every existing person on this planet to achieve this. The idea is so beautiful, but the cost to achieve this is far too high.

Every human on planet Earth is important and has inherent worth, so erasing the current people on earth to achieve this would be an unthinkable and inhumane atrocity.

Our world today has come far; there have been a lot of accomplishments and discoveries, and technology has advanced beyond the human imagination. So rebooting the world to start from scratch means we are going to go back to go centuries before all this advancement.

Another reason why I would not start the world from scratch is because the future is unpredictable, so I wouldn't want to gamble it. What if, after starting from scratch, the new world didn't go the way I had envisioned it? That would mean I just killed innocent people for nothing.

If not for anything but the love I have shared with my family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances, I would do it.

This is my entry into this week's prompt by @galenkp.
