AI is pretty new to the technology world, but I believe that we are slowly starting to create a dependency on AI. There are so many things that have become easier now with the help of AI. Once when the Calculator was born, people found it difficult to adapt to that because all the calculations were made with their minds, and it was easy and convenient for them. But look at the world now. Even for a simple calculation, we are making use of a calculator just to be sure rather than using our minds. This is a very common thing, and we have to embrace this transition.
I think the world is also undergoing a similar transition with the help of AI. Though all industries have a major impact in this change, I think the IT industry is the one that is getting affected the most. This transition is also confusing, and many manual workers have lost their jobs or had to switch to other skill-based roles. This transition is expected, and the world will have to go through this transition.
Now the interesting part is where we get more dependent on the AI. This is likely to happen. Today, people are already dependent so much on Google search. If they want to find some answers, they immediately go to Google Search and get their answers. This was good for getting the knowledge that was not available. But now with the AI, the thinking ability of human beings is going to get affected. For some problems, we might be able to get the answers but thinking or through our thought process. But with AI at its peak, we have already started going to AI to get all our answers. This is going to increase so much in the future, and we might slow down a little bit, and some skills that we possess right now may not be relevant skills in the future at all because we might have AI devices or machines doing that for us.
This dependency that we have created on the AI, or what we are creating on the AI, is going to be dangerous, but it should not be to the extent where we lose our thinking capabilities. Any technology is good, but we have to understand the limitations and to what extent we should embrace the technology. We should not be too dependent on anything so that we find it hard to survive without technology.
