Hello Hello Hivians
It's Wednesday and here in Scotland the Autumn is well and truly here! I was working from home today and started at 6. So by 10.30am I reckoned that I deserved a walk and a break as that was 4 and a half hours work which is half a day. My 18 hour days are a thing of a past and I most definitely have graduated to the don't give a fluff attitude of working.
Today though we are practising what #wednesdaywalk is all about!
Look at what is around you!
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
I decided that I would take the long way round to get to the grocery store. It is smoothie making day today, so I needed a couple of bags of spinach and a couple of bunches of bananas. In addition I wanted to pick up some mince to make a kick ass piping hot chilli 🌶 for tomorrow night.
Instead of going left and down the hill I went right and up the hill to a street I have not been to for a while....
4 years no smoking!
Last month saw me completing 4 years with a cigarette. I went cold turkey after many decades of smoking. I was on a pack a day at boarding school so it was a long time.
I also gave up drinking for a year before as there was no way if I am drunk that I could not smoke lol.
As a result, I had not been down this street for a while. It leads to the shop where I got my tobacco, which as explained is not needed now!
This primary school has been left to rot for a few years. The gates make for some nice shadows...
No School Children Allowed In These Premises
Quite fluffing right!
Being the curmudgeon that I can be, I would have that sign all over the place, in fact anywhere was I was going to be!
Some bairn or lassie has lost their bag. Oops I better not judge the sex or gender of the lost bag owner!
One good thing here, is that quite often, people will pick up lost stuff and hand it from a railing or something.
Pigeon City
Most of the windows have been knocked out and boarded up, but Percy and his mates have taken up residence. I don't blame them, it has to be drier and warmer in there during the winter!

The end of the road sees this wee alley which leads towards the sea..
I have always thought it would make for a cool monochrome shot with the overhanging trees and cobbles... A bit spooky in the dark too!
Pup on a mission
I was greeted by this pup on a mission when I came out of the alley. I let him lead to the next alley.
Having had big dogs all my life, like Shepherds and Malamutes, I tend to think of all dogs no matter their size!
Who the fluff is HEGGIE
I have no idea but this is their Wynd or Lane.
It is a fun wee street...
... that takes to the sea.
This part of the promenade is where the car park is and we get these wee RV things...
Did you used to ride donkeys on the beach as a kid?
I know I did...
But they were real, not a dead one like this one!
The tide was out and you can see some of the gorgeous clouds that you get at this time of year.
Cloud drama!
What were these fluffers looking for?
We were not amused
I love how detailed his wee feet came out!
He was looking at these two pups. The one on the right was misbehaving and was in trouble, see how his head is bent and ears aren't up and alert like the pup on the left?
The Kids paddling pool!
This is the reservoir that forms from the Teal burn before it flows into the sea.
Yes I call it the pool for the kids... can your guess why?
Noisdy fluffing kids!
Of the seagull variety. Whenever you see them with this sort of mottle ran colour you know they are just fleglings and love to hang out together like so many kids seem to do!
Right shop time before it rains. I see the sign for Gym 64 across the road. My gym is further away but it has a pool and sauna and so much more.
I think Mr Nag the donkey is facing the wrong direction, surely the chequered squares denote the start or end of the race track?
Bye Bye to the sea and Teal Burn, this is the part that flows into the Kids Pool!
Shop Ahead!
I made it back home all in one piece and got a deal on the bananas too!
This post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by @tattoodjay
