My Daily Routine In the Morning: A Refreshing 7-Minute Walk Before the Day and Savor the Perfect Cup of Coffee.

Hello, hiver friends! I hope you’re all in good well today. As for me, I just want to enjoy my daily routine, which is having a nice cup of coffee. It's been two months since I last visit this coffee shop, and I thinking today would be the perfect time to come back. This coffee shop, called ZUS Coffee, is quite famous here in Malaysia. It’s a local brand that has grown in popularity over the years. ZUS Coffee started back in late 2019, just before the pandemic struck and everything went into lockdown. While many businesses suffered due to the pandemic, ZUS Coffee managed to push through, and when my husband and I first tried it, we were pleasantly surprised. The brewed coffee was good, and the prices were affordable too.

My husband is a fan of Americano, but when it comes to ZUS Coffee, I always go for the classic coffee latte. I love to pair it with a curry popia. If you’ve never try curry popia, it's a delicious Malaysian snack that is crispy and filled with a potato curry and boil egg filling. It's one of those things that make my coffee break extra special. Today, since my husband isn’t around, I’m here by myself, so I decided to go with my usual: a coffee latte and curry popia for breakfast. It’s a simple yet satisfying meal that never disappoints. I have this little habit when it comes to coffee. I tend to look for an affordable yet quality cup of coffee. If I want to treat myself to something a little different in the mornings, I call it my “morning unwind.” It’s my time to relax and enjoy a coffee that’s not too expensive, but still good enough to start the day with a smile. It’s become a routine I look forward to.
Today, I spent about $3.06 at ZUS Coffee. My coffee latte worth around $2.11, and the curry popia was just $0.99. It’s not expensive at all, and honestly, it feels like I’m at a trending coffee shop like Starbucks. The ambiance here is comfortable, and there are a few office workers sitting around, sipping their coffee and doing their work. It’s a nice, peaceful environment, and I can’t help but feel ready to take on the day after my morning unwind.

One thing that sets ZUS Coffee apart is that all the staff members are Muslim, which means that the shop is halal. This is an important factor for many customers here in Malaysia. However, I do remember hearing some news last year on social media about a controversy surrounding the brand. There were rumors that people wanted to boycott ZUS Coffee because of its name and logo, "ZUS." The issue was that some felt the name and logo didn’t fit with Muslim faith values. It was a hot topic for a while, and many people voiced their concerns online. But despite the buzz, I also heard that the owner of the brand is Malay, meaning he is Muslim, and that the real issue was just around the name and logo. Over time, the controversy died down, and the whole situation was largely forgotten.

As for the coffee itself, I can confidently say that compared to big-name brands like Starbucks, ZUS Coffee offers something different. It’s not sweet type like some commercial coffee chains; the coffee here is brewed for coffee lovers, those who prefer a more authentic, less sugary taste. My husband and I enjoy it because of that. It's perfect for people who appreciate a good cup of coffee without the overwhelming sweetness, and the best part is that it’s still affordable, unlike some of the pricy chains. In the end, I’m happy to have discovered ZUS Coffee. It’s become one of our favorite spots, not just because it’s affordable but also because of the quality. Plus, I always feel at home here, and joys of a good latte and curry popia are just the perfect way to start the day. So, if you’re ever in the area and in the mood for a satisfying coffee break, I highly recommend stopping by.
