I posted a series of photos yesterday taken from the Chicago Lakefront Trail just before the sun came up

Here are the photos of the sun appearing over the horizon! Sunrise always provides many photo opportunities.

The Montrose Dog Beach is a safely fenced in area where pets are allowed off leash to run in the sand and play in the lake. The beach area is free to use although there is a fee for parking. It is a busy place and on hot summer days there is even a food truck in the parking lot selling dog treats!
When you are done playing, there are pet showers availble, for a fee, to wash the sand off before going home.

The sign at the dog beach says NO FOOD.
Imagine trying to eat a sandwich with a beach full of dogs around!

There were only a few dogs there for a sunrise swim, but they were all enjoying playing and swimming.

No dogs are allowed on the people beach! There is a bird and butterfly sanctuary there though!

After Labor Day no lifeguards are on duty.

Walking along the lakeshore you can almost forget that you are in a city with 2.75 million people.
