My Splinterlands End-of-Season Activity: Playing, Renting, Buying, and Upgrading Cards
On Splinterlands, time is marked by seasons that last approximately 15 days.
There is less than a day left until the end of the current season, season 167.
I play Splinterlands since september 2019 and I am about to reach 17,000 battles played in Modern Format, which is my favorite game mode in Ranked Play.
I also really enjoy playing in Frontier Format, which I think is the best addition made by the Splinterlands team in 2025 because a completely free-to-play game mode is a great starting point for new players, and I think it can also be a great way to facilitate the onboarding of new players who can try the game before deciding whether or not to invest.
In my opinion, the path taken by Splinterlands in 2025 is the right one: increasing game modes and gameplay options!
In fact, during 2025, two new game modes were introduced in Ranked Play:
- Survival Mode (February 27, 2025)
- Frontier Mode (July 29, 2025).

I also like the ongoing rework of Survival Mode because there will be brackets for human players only.
My dream is to see Splinterlands completely free of private bots because, in my opinion, Splinterlands has beautiful and fun gameplay, and I see absolutely no long-term benefit in allowing private bots.
While I consider private bots to be counterproductive, I consider liquidity bots to be very useful as they improve the gaming experience for human players by eliminating wait times when there are few active players.
When the new Survival Mode will be released, I will be very happy to play manually in the brackets reserved for human players, and my enjoyment will also increase because I will have three formats in ranked play instead of two to play manually.
Having closed this parenthesis on some of my personal considerations, in this post I share my end-of-season activity in which:
- I try to play as many battles as possible to achieve my seasonal goals
- I check and manage my incoming and outgoing rental activity
The seasonal goals I set at the beginning of the season were:
- to reach Diamond III league in the Modern Format
- to play consistently in the Gold leagues in the Frontier Format.
I achieved my seasonal goal in Frontier Format because I play in the Gold III league.
In Modern Format, I played 274 battles with a win rate of 50%.
It will be difficult for me to reach my seasonal goal because I have a rating of 2400 and 38 energy points, and I would need to increase my rating by 400 points before the end of the season.
I'll still try to finish the season in the Gold I league, which would still be a good result for me.
My results in the Moder Format have improved since I rented two top-level archons: Avina of the Wolf and Nomos
Some time ago, I found these two archons at lower rental prices than the current ones, and one of the things I do before the end of the season is to renew the rental of these two summoners for another season.
To renew the rental of Avina of the Wolf and Nomos, I used Peakmonsters and spent a total of 1267.005 DEC = 84.46 DEC per day.
My balance between rent out and rent in is slightly negative because I earn 74.27 DEC per day and spend 84.46 DEC per day, but thanks to the two archons I rent, I manage to earn a much larger amount of SPS tokens than the cost of the rental.
My strategy is to use all the income I get from renting cards that I don't use in battle to rent cards that I consider useful in the Modern Format and that can help increase my win rate.
I would like to rent another max-level archon, but I am willing to spend a maximum of 50 DEC per day per archon, and at the moment there are no max-level archons usable in the Modern Format at this price.
Today I also upgraded a card that I consider very useful, especially in battles with the Going to Distance ruleset (only cards with ranged attacks can be used).
The card is Caravan Guard, a common card of the Conclave Arcana set, of which I have 47 CC.
Today I purchased 13 copies of Caravan Guard with the goal of upgrading it to level 5 to allow this card to acquire the Headwinds ability
I made this upgrade with battles using the Going to Distance rule in mind.
To purchase 13 copies of Caravan Guard, I used https://monstermarket.io/ and spent a total of 811.25 DEC and received a cashback of 19.5 DEC.
I did this upgrade because in battles with the Going to Distance ruleset, I don't have a good win rate when I use Life element cards.
After my latest upgrade, I'll have a better chance of winning battles with the Going to Distance ruleset because I'll be able to use two cards with the Headwings ability in combination:
- Level 5 Caravan Guard
- Level 4 Anachron Bolter
In fact, in battles with the Going to Distance ruleset, thanks to the Caravan Guard + Anachron Bolter combo, all of my opponent's cards will have two fewer attack points.
I'll conclude this post by showing the results of my last game session in the Modern Format with the goal of advancing to the Gold I league and then trying to at least get close to the Diamond III league.
I started the game session:
- in Gold II
- with a Rating score = 2400
- 100 rating points from the Gold I league
My game session lasted 42 minutes.
I played 11 battles:
- 7 wins
- 4 losses
With 7 wins, I earned 34.41 SPS.
I started well, winning two battles, but I lost the third battle that would have allowed me to reach the Gold I league.
I didn't lose heart and continued playing until I was again just 20 rating points away from the Gold I league.
Fortunately, I won the eleventh battle, which had the Back to Basics, Maneuvers, and Blood and Sunder rulesets, which you can see by clicking on the following link.
I chose cards with high attack and health points.
I placed the cards with high magic attack in the last positions because in battles with the Back to Basics rule, they are the last to be attacked and are also the most important cards for winning this type of battle.
My strategy worked and I won the battle.
I advanced for the first time this season in the Gold I league.
I was also very lucky to find a legendary Reward Soulbound card!
I still have 32 energy points left, and I'll try to advance in the Diamond III league. Even though it won't be easy, I'll enjoy playing and trying to advance to the next league!

La mia attività di fine stagione: Giocare, Noleggiare Carte e Upgrade delle carte.
Su Splinterlands il tempo è scandito dalle stagioni che hanno una durata di circa 15 giorni.
Manca poco meno di un giorno alla fine della stagione in corso, la stagione 167.
Gioco su Splinterlands dal settembre 2019 e sto per raggiungere le 17000 battaglie giocate nel Modern Format che è la mia modalità di gioco preferita nel Ranked Play.
Mi diverto molto a giocare anche nel Frontier Format che è secondo me la migliore aggiunta fatta dal team di Splinterlands nel corso del 2025 perchè una modalità di gioco completamente free to play è un ottimo punto di partenza per i nuovi giocatori e penso che possa essere anche un ottimo strumento per facilitare l'onboarding dei nuovi giocatori che possono provare il gioco prima di decidere se investire o meno.
Secondo me la strada intrapresa da Splinterlands nel 2025 è la strada giusta: aumentare le modalità di gioco e le opzioni di gioco!
Infatti nel corso del 2025, sono state introdotte due nuove modalità di gioco nel Ranked Play:
- il Survival Mode (27 febbraio 2025)
- il Frontier Mode (29 luglio 2025).

Mi piace anche il Rework in corso del Survival Mode perchè sono stati previsti dei brackets solo per i giocatori umani.
Il mio sogno è vedere Splinterlands completamente libero dai bots privati perchè secondo me Splinterlands ha un gameplay bello e divertente e non vedo assolutamente l'utilità nel lungo periodo di consentire i bots privati.
Se considero controproducenti i bots privati considero invece molto utili i liquidity bots che migliorano l'esperienza di gioco dei giocatori umani eliminando i tempi di attesa quando ci sono pochi giocatori attivi.
Quando il nuovo Survival Mode sarà rilasciato sarò molto felice di giocare manualmente nei brackets riservati ai giocatori umani e anche il mio divertimento aumenterà perchè avrò tre formati nel ranked play invece di due in cui giocare manualmente.
Chiusa questa parentesi su alcune mie considerazioni personali, in questo post condivido la mia attività di fine stagione in cui:
- cerco di giocare il maggior numero di battaglie per raggiungere i miei obiettivi stagionali
- controllo e gestisco la mia attività di noleggio in entrata e in uscita
Gli obiettivi stagionali che avevo fissato ad inizio stagione erano:
- arrivare in lega Diamond III nel Modern Format
- giocare stabilmente nelle leghe Gold nel Frontier Format.
Nel Modern Format ho giocato 274 battaglie con un win rate del 50%.
Difficilmente riuscirò a raggiungere il mio obiettivo stagionale perchè ho 2400 punti di rating e 38 punti energia e dovrei aumentare il mio rating di 400 punti prima della fine della stagione.
Proverò comunque a terminare la stagione nella lega Gold I che sarebbe comunque un buon risultato per me.
I miei risultati nel Moder Format sono migliorati da quando ho noleggiato due archons di massimo livello: Avina of the Wolf e Nomos
Tempo fa ho trovato questi due archons a dei prezzi di noleggio più bassi di quelli attuali e una delle operazioni che faccio prima della fine della stagione è rinnovare il noleggio di questi due evocatori per un'altra stagione.
Per rinnovare il noleggio di Avina of the Wolf e Nomos ho utilizzato Peakmonsters e ho speso in totale 1267.005 DEC = 84.46 DEC al giorno.
Il mio bilancio tra rent out e rent in è leggermente negativo perchè guadagno 74.27 DEC al giorno e spendo 84.46 DEC al giorno ma grazie ai due archons che prendo in noleggio riesco a guadagnare un quantitativo di token SPS molto maggiore rispetto al costo del noleggio.
La mia strategia è di utilizzare tutto il guadagno che ottengo dal noleggio di carte che non uso in battaglia per prendere in noleggio carte che considero utili nel Modern Format e che possono contribuire ad aumentare il mio win rate.
Mi piacerebbe noleggiare un altro archon di massimo livello ma sono disposto a spendere al massimo 50 DEC al giorno per archon e al momento non ci sono archons di massimo livello utilizzabili nel Modern Format a questo prezzo.
Oggi ho fatto anche un upgrade di una carta che considero molto utile in particolare nelle battaglie con la ruleset Going to Distance (è possibile utilizzare solo le carte con attacco dalla distanza).
La carta è Caravan Guard, carta comune del set Conclave Arcana, di cui ho 47 CC.
Oggi ho acquistato 13 copie di Caravan Guard con l'obiettivo di fare l'upgrade al livello 5 per permettere a questa carta di acquisire l'abilità Headwinds
Ho fatto questo upgrade pensando alle battaglie con la regola Going to Distance.
Per acquistare 13 copie di Caravan Guard ho utilizzato https://monstermarket.io/ e ho speso in totale 811.25 DEC e ho ricevuto un cashback di 19.5 DEC.
Ho fatto questo upgrade perchè nelle battaglie con la ruleset Going to distance quando uso le carte dell'elemento Life non ho un buon win rate.
Dopo il mio ultimo upgrade avrò più possibilità di vincere le battaglie con la ruleset Going to distance perchè potrò utilizzare in combinazione due carte con l'abilità Headwings:
- Caravan Guard di livello 5
- Anachron Bolter di livello 4
Infatti nelle battaglie con la ruleset Going to Distance grazie alla combo Caravan Guard + Anachron Bolter tutte le carte del mio avversario avranno due punti di attacco in meno.
Concludo questo post mostrando i risultati della mia ultima sessione di gioco nel Modern Format con l'obiettivo di avanzare nella lega Gold I per poi provare almeno ad avvicinarmi alla lega Diamond III.
Ho iniziato la sessione di gioco:
- in Gold II
- con un punteggio di Rating = 2400
- 100 rating points dalla lega Gold I
La mia sessione di gioco è durata 42 minuti.
Ho giocato 11 battaglie:
- 7 vittorie
- 4 sconfitte
Con 7 vittorie ho guadagnato 34.41 SPS.
Ho iniziato bene vincendo due battaglie ma ho perso la terza battaglia che mi avrebbe permesso di arrivare nella lega Gold I.
Non mi sono perso d'animo e ho continuato a giocare fino ad arrivare nuovamente a soli 20 punti di rating dalla lega Gold I.
Fortunatamente ho vinto l'undicesima battaglia che aveva le ruleset Back to Basics, Maneuvers e Blood and Sunder che puoi vedere cliccando sul prossimo link.
Ho scelto le carte considerando quelle con molti punti di attacco e molti punti vita.
Ho posizionato le carte con un alto attacco magico nelle ultime posizioni perchè nelle battaglie con la regola Back to Basics sono le ultime ad essere attaccate e sono anche le carte più importanti per vincere questa tipologia di battaglia.
La mia strategia ha funzionato e ho vinto la battaglia.
Sono avanzato per la prima volta nella stagione in corso nella lega Gold I.
Sono stato anche molto fortunato a trovare una carta Reward Soulbound leggendaria:
Ho ancora 32 punti energia a disposizione e proverò ad avanzare nella lega Diamond III e, anche se non sarà facile farlo, mi divertirò a giocare provando ad avanzare nella lega successiva!
