Even though we are well into summer and some spring flowers are beginning to dry up, I wanted to share something interesting with you. I like to call it the flower portal โ the front door to my mother's garden.
Brimming with flowers, this bush belongs to the rose family. I'm unsure of the exact species, but it's a common sight in almost every yard.
This is the garden next to my mother's house. As you can see, the vegetables and some flowers are thriving very well. She has the time and is in this garden all day.
I don't manage to do anything like that. I only have time to go and look at my vegetable garden and field a few times a week.
The garden is enclosed by a fence and accessed through a gate or, since this is the subject of this photo essay, through a portal of flowers.
In the past, as far as I can remember, there were only a few flowers, but now this bush has grown a lot and has become a real portal :)
Although no medieval castle is behind it, there is only a vegetable garden. I was reminded of the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty, mainly because the stems and branches have thorns.
There are many bees around, too; I managed to photograph one.
These slowly fading roses still emit a strong fragrance. In the past, they were used to create homemade rose oil or perfume.
But now there is no one left to do it. An idea to think about? But I'd probably need a whole field of it... so I'll forget about it :)
