Even though I stopped at the greenhouse and asked at the Help desk, all their autumn decorations had been cleared out and packed away to make room for Christmas! The clerks just shook their heads sadly. Next year I will know to plan much further ahead for a Thanksgiving table centerpiece.
But the gift shop and greenhouse were filled to bursting with Christmas decorations and poinsettias of literally every color. There were traditional colors and outrageous painted plants, too! An explosion of color!
Even though there was still Thanksgiving dinner left to prepare at home in my kitchen, I started my holiday decorating with a big red poinsettia and a small one, too. They were simply too irresistible and I couldn't leave the greenhouse without a couple of them! Now the chore will be to keep them watered and alive until the new year!
