Namaste!
Although during winters I rarely go out early in the morning, but to attend a mundan ceremony at the house of a close relative I had to leave early in the morning, not because his house was very far but because to cover the distance I had to cross Delhi city. 3 days ago I left my house in the evening to attend another function and reached there in almost four hours after which for the next function which was to start at 10-11 in the morning, I decided that we would leave early in the morning so that traffic won't be a problem.
This is the view outside my house at 6:30 am yesterday!
I was leaving early in the morning to avoid traffic and the weather created a whole different level of problem. When I got ready and went out of the house at 6:30 in the morning, the view outside was something like this and the temperature was some 8 degrees (It was so cold). And I would like to tell you that my phone camera automatically captured a clear photo because it was looking even blurry with my eyes.
And the scariest part was that I had to drive in such heavy fog!
well, definitely that ceremony could have been avoided, after all, there would have been nothing more important than life, but this fog is nothing new, in our place sometimes during winter the weather remains like this for the whole day, otherwise there is fog like this almost every day in the early morning and late evening.
However, this still was very difficult for me as I personally have no experience of driving in such weather. Still, somehow I reached the main road and after that, the real adventure started. The fog was so dense that I could not see any signboards or turns and then Google Baba came in handy. 🤳
I moved slowly along the divider on the road and found out the turns with the help of Google Maps and then moving slowly and steadily in the same way, we reached our destination in almost two and a half hours. Some other guests who reached there said that they saw many accident-hit vehicles on the highway. Fortunately, all of us reached there safely. 😇
But while driving slowly in that dense fog, I thought that the responsibility for your safety on the road is not just yours. Like in an accident, no matter whose mistake it is, there are many people who pay for it. Therefore we all should drive safely. 🚙
